HB252 Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Hello, I have discover IL 2 STALINGRAD since 2 weeks (of course i wiil buy it ), I have seen the videos in cockpit BF 109, and I think that the ammo counter is not correct (I think). In demos videos, the ammo counter have 3 red lights in upper sections, I think that the ammo counter have not lights. I think so because I have a BF 109 ammo counter. I hope that you understand me. My ammo counter: - BLACK SECTIONS BY DEFAULT: - WHITE SECTIONS WHEN THE WEAPON IS FIRING: I hope explain it well and you understand my. I think that it is a small detail but for me is very important think (whe you fly in cocpit a lot, you can tired about this errors) Regards. Miguel 1
HB252 Posted January 19, 2014 Author Posted January 19, 2014 Hello again, I want explain you like workrs the German ammo counter, so I put here others pictures: - side view, open mechanism: - another side view: - side view closed ammo counter: When the pilot press the fire button, the cilinder ( 1 ) turn over itself: - the White section of the cilinder (ammo counter) will turn down, show the pilot how much ammo is firing, - Of course, also the black sections become in White (like I expain up.) When the plane is on ground and the pilot is safe ( ), the blackmen reload the ammo in the guns, and press and turn the 2 button for put the cilinder in the full position. Like you see in the pictures ammo counter have not light, because there is not space in it. I think (I m not sure) that the small White sections become flaring for the cokpit lights, in night of course. Regards . Miguel 1
JtD Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Nice, I had not seen the insides of this ammo counter yet.
Bando Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 It's the little details that make a sim greater than it's predecessors. I hope the devs will implement this.
Sandhill Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Thanks, I had wondered how the counters worked...a rotating cylinder had never occurred to me. Simple, mechanical, analog.
Reflected Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Slightly off topic- but ammo counters are not working at the moment, right? Those white stripes that are supposed to go down never move.
JtD Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 For what it's worth, cockpitinstrumente.de has recently added the technical description to their site: http://www.deutscheluftwaffe.de/archiv/Dokumente/ABC/s/SZKK/LuftT6505Schusszeahler.pdf
Emgy Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Thank you for the details and pics HB252! Slightly off topic- but ammo counters are not working at the moment, right? Those white stripes that are supposed to go down never move. Correct, unless they changed it last friday.
