Turbulence modeling is one of the hardest things to calculate. I'm fairly certain that a laminar flow wing does not keep the flow laminar across the whole chord, and instead trys to keep it laminar for as long as possible (typically 60%-ish of the chord, as opposed to perhaps 20% on standard foil sections).
