FrozenLiquidity Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 (edited) Type of improvement: Control / Miscellaneous Explanation of proposal: Provide a different/alternative mechanism to start recording Tacview tracksBenefits: The current method of recording a Tacview track in IL-2 is paired with recording in-flight records. Unfortunately, in-flight records will automatically turn off without warning when the maximum recording file size is reached. The Tacview recording functionality is joined to the in-flight recording functionality to the point where it *also* shuts off when the in-flight record stops. This results in incomplete Tacview recordings, despite these recordings not being subject to the file size restrictions that in-flight recordings are. I would suggest de-pairing the Tacview recording function from the in-flight recording feature, and allowing it to either be started via an independent hotkey, or configured to start automatically via config file or in-game option. This would have the benefit of allowing players to make Tacview recordings of their flights that are entirely independent of the limitations of the in-flight recording system in IL-2. Having an additional option in a config file and/or in-game option that a player could set would also allow for the automatic recording of the smaller Tacview files, relieving the player of having to remember to press this input so frequently.
