More and more when I return to base...

More and more, during the Moscow campaign when I return to base, in my Mig-3 only campaign, low of fuel and or low of ammo or without ammo, then over my airfield there are four to 8 BF-109 F4 in ambush for when I try to land, no triple A to help me, no friendly air cover.

I can outrun them or try to find another field to land but they follow.

If friendly fighters are present they try to land?!

I can do this for ten minutes but 1/4 or 1/8 disadvantage at one point they get me and I must leave my plane by parachute and never can land. 

Does this happen often?! Is this normal?

I can't tell - but next time you could save half your ammo for the return, then return high, at 6000 m,

and attack them from above! That should teach them!

I've had to make a few "combat" landings hoping for the best as I land at the airfield. I usually make it, but not always

Happened to me with a Spitfire career, same issue, enemy aircraft pick you up on return or even follow you from the target area and try as you may cannot evade them and the airfield AA is practically useless at protecting you, I died.

 

Now it is a fact things like that happened, enemy aircraft would follow or lie in wait for those returning, however, what is really annoying is when those aircraft following you have taken hits and still pursue all the way back to your base, If the player aircraft took a hit and smoked like some of them you would have fallen out the sky long ago or been forced to make it home before the engine died.

 

The career still needs quite a bit of fine tuning.

Happens to me too at times in the Career. If I am getting pounded and damaged when trying to land, I just eject out of there. Not worth losing my career progress over.

I find this ok if this happens once or twice but why does my side not react against this situation?!

But it is only a game and all it still not perfect!
