GPS delay

When opening the map the GPS takes a couple of seconds to update my position correctly. Usually around 4-5 seconds. I mainly play MP but as far as I remember I SP is similar.

 

I'm thinking this might be related to VR because my teammates don't have the issue and as far as I remember this was introduced with the VR implementation in 2.001 (?) update.

 

What do you guys experience about this?

Yep I have the delay also. Seems like always have in VR.

Its not just VR - seems it went away for me when I did a full reinstall for 3.003 but now, after reinstalling to get rid of some graphic artefacts that appeared with a new GPU/driver, its back.

Wait, you say that there are people who don't have this delay? Is it a bug?

Yes some of my teammates don't know what I'm talking about when I describe the issue to them. And I hear them telling their position instantly always.

Well, it would require some investigations then.

I'm playing on a monitor (4k) and I have that GPS delay problem too.

From my experience, More recently, others without VR have started to experience at least some delay as well with HUD on. Running with HUD off makes a difference to the update time and was the main cause. Those without VR and HUD off also experienced it. 

 

Prior to that others with HUD on weren't impacted and just turning your HUD back on then opening your map would help. 

 

 

It's quite amusing, 

 

Juggling trying to give your position, waiting for your map to update and turning around to watch your 6 and maneuvering to avoid being shot. 

 

No time to wait for that map update. 

 

Those not in VR don't have to turn back around to read the map at least.

Still a lot faster than real GPS in year 2018...

The HUD updates less frequently since the last patches, maybe in order to improve performance while it's open.
