howitzer155mm Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 After playing the career mode for dozens of hours with my Luftwaffe pilot after Campaign mode being removed in BoS. I finished a soft target ground attack mission against a convoy. Then had the luxury of flying 100km back to the airfield. I landed, then let the autopilot taxi to the parking area, plane shuts off. Mission accomplished. I then clicked "Finish mission" where it shows that the mission was accomplished and I landed successfully, with all the stats. But then I return to the HQ menu, and ta-da, my pilot is missing in action and captured. And now I get to do the same thing again for a couple dozen more hours! YAY! I didn't know German-disguised Soviet bases were a thing in this game. What a waste of time. Has this happened to anyone else?
Custard Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 This is the wrong forum for this. It hasn't happened to me but apparently there is a way to save your saves, it works when the save is corrupted - I wonder if the method can be used to save captured pilots too?

CrazyDuck Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 Did your pilot appear captured only the next day after your successful mission? Could it be that your base was close to enemy territory and the frontline moved overnight (effectively capturing your entire base)?

seafireliv Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 Never had that happen to me yet. Would be really annoying after an hour`s mission. Could letting the plane taxi on autopilot at the end have anything to do with it. I have never done that. I usually just turn off the run way, taxi a little and switch off the engine then finish.

Trinkof Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 Happened to me also on a 20h + campaign... I bailed, mission failed, but no mention of capture in the report... I clicked exit, to learn my campaign was over, with no way of changing it.... so sad.... A fix would be welcome

First they came for my bug reports, and I said nothing. Then they took away my Suggestions, and still I said nothing. Then they took away my FM debate, and my Multiplayer, and my Singleplayer, and still I said nothing. When they came for my Career, there was nobody left to speak for me... 1

RedKestrel Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 IIRC there is a .mission or .mis file or something that you can send to the devs that contains all your mission information (I think Han or Blacksix) along with a report on what happened. I'm sure a way was found to resurrect pilots, just can't remember the thread...I think in some cases it introduced some odd behaviour into the career later on though.

I am sure they were so confused after watching german plane landing on their airfield that they thought that germans already took over entire frontline in that region and just forgot about them. They probably surrendered to him just to be safe ?
Adermann322 Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 I have had the same issue on multiple occasions. The new campaign system is not as fun as the old one for me. Primarily because of this issue causing me to do the same thing over and over again. If finish mission shows up in green it should finish the damn mission.
