Hi guys,

I got this problem in that I get stuttering whenever I play multiplayer and come close to where the action is taking place. It is especially evident with Track IR. The head movements starts to fell jerky. When I play singleplayer or multiplayer away from other players the fps is flawless.

What seems to get rid of the low fps or stuttering is when I look back up at the sky so that I cannot see the ground. My GPU drivers are up to date.

Anyone else has similar problems? Any possible solutions.

My system specs are I 5 3570k, GTX 970 and 8GB RAM

Sounds similar to problems I had. I'm still testing, but I think it got a lot better by setting the Graphicsetting to Balanced with 4k Textures enabled. I also did reset the BoS profile in the Nvidia Software to default.

I'm running a GTX 970 aswell

The weirdest thing is the fps counter practically always stays at 60 fps, the lowest I ve seen was 57fps. However you cant definitely see stuttery movement when you roll the plane or look around. Is this the problem you were having?

Yes, the FPS where always high and didn't change a bit while it stutters.

Its exactly what I experience.

I forgot to mention, reset the Graphic settings to Default before you try Balanced settings. I guess it solved the problem for me,thats after a few hours more of testing today. The Game doesnt look as good though, maybe I have to play more with the different settings.

Did some testing today, it seems that what causes the problem for me is the vsync. I've disabled it and can play on ultra no problem. Of course now the game looks crap when I move my head around. Anyone knows how to report the problem to the devs?

@sinistercabbage

I've got the similar system specs but with 16 GB RAM and I have (nearly) no stutter on MP and no tearing when moving my head.

Try this:

Ingame graphic settings:

Some comments about my ingame settings:

- Disabling Full screen and enabling both VSync and Use 4K textures helps to get rid of micro stutters and stuttering in general (SP and MP)

- Don't push too much on Horizon draw distance and Distant landscape detail -> we have only 4GB of VRAM, haven't we?

- Landscape filter is set to Off because it really helps spotting enemies especially when they fly low!

- My preset is set on HIGH but I also used ULTRA - so it's up to you.

Some comments about VSync:

I tried both - VSync OFF ingame and VSync fast ON in the Nvidia Control Panel (NCP) and vice versa. Too me, I made better experience with VSync ON ingame

and VSync OFF in the NCP - no tearing, no crappy experience here with my TrackIR 5.

Some might give a sniff to those fixed 60 FPS, but honestly with a 60Hz monitor I prefer a steady 57-60 FPS all along than a roller coaster 50-120 FPS during

the whole flight. Psychologically speaking people get nervous when FPS jumps like that whereas nobody really cares about a wink of 57-60 FPS.

I personally noticed one other thing that might help you. Here my advice:

Inked2018_6_2__9_59_15_LI.thumb.jpg.d182f582504bf1175357934f4aab61ec.jpg

Disable Show custom paint schemes - it's a nice feature for MP but alas on system specs like yours or mine not very advisable at the moment - it's not a game

breaker anyway.

So with my settings I enjoy a stutter free MP experience even when the MP server a nearly full (WOL, TAW, Coconut Expert, Random Expert, BERLOGA).

Hope this will help you.

Cheers

I owe you a couple of beers!

I just switched off the full screen and the problem went away. I didn't bother with 4k textures.

Unticked full screeen did wonder to me too. Just be sure to set ingame resolution to match monitor resolution. All other ioption which should be changed you have in Therio`s post.

Please, bother and check those 4k textures as it was reported by the dev team that this also could have an impact on MP stuttering.

And there is absolutely no harm to check them too.

I did everything you said and it works great........at least that was until today, been flying a little online, everything great, then i picked a new plane (ju88) for a mission and the fps dropped down fluctuating about 40-55fps. Next time I went there it was better about 50-60fps. Though strangely I was getting more fps in bf 109.

Tried to reset graphics but it didn't help. Again performance in singleplayer is flawless.

I had the problem in the past (except then fps would drop to something like 30), on first occasion reseting graphic settings worked, on another updating gpu drivers did the job.

EDIT: 1 hour later went on wings of liberty again, this time the server had 10 more people-the problem is gone.

Yes MP is still not optimised well. Hence, the variables in experience. I have mostly very good and smoothly play, sometimes (rarely) goes bad. But like I said before fiddling with the options mentioned above, it was much much worse.
