RedKestrel Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 This is just a suggestion for the implementation of the new Career mode. I'm really loving it so far. Its been brought up before that when playing non-iron man mode careers (There was a big thread about it), its very easy to accidentally end your career by clicking "Finish" or "Proceed" on the mission debriefing screen when your pilot is dead or captured. Its not 100% clear that in that situation you must click restart mission in order to not end the career. In my case, last night I bailed out over enemy territory during an escort mission and was captured. I wasn't aware that I was over enemy territory at the time, and the mission debriefing screen (the one that says whether you accomplished your mission, and lists your ground and air kills) did not say that I had been captured, just that the mission was failed and I had accomplished a secondary objective (takeoff). I think there should be one or two things: 1. A Pilot Status on screen that says: Dead, Wounded or Captured, if they apply. Its possible I missed this on the screen, but I don't think so. 2. When clicking Proceed or Finish, when a pilot is captured or dead, a dialog box that says something like "WARNING: THIS WILL PERMANENTLY END THIS PILOT'S CAREER In my case I'm not too broken up about losing the pilot, I was doing well but I'm just as happy restarting the career in the most recent phase (I was only just finished phase one of BOM). But it would be nice to have that warning, or a better indicator of pilot status. Thanks! 5

The "captured" symbol looks like a # sign. 9 hours ago, RedKestrel said: When clicking Proceed or Finish, when a pilot is captured or dead, a dialog box that says something like "WARNING: THIS WILL PERMANENTLY END THIS PILOT'S CAREER I'd like to see that as well.

SharpeXB Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 I finished a career mission bailing out close enough to my lines I thought I might have a chance. There wasn’t any definite message about whether I would be captured or not. I didn’t see a # or anything so I finished the mission. Oops. Maybe the success or fate message should be more clear.

This happened to me just tonight. I thought I'd bailed out over my own lines, but was just behind enemy lines. There was no # or captured or killed message as there is sometimes. I was listed as "missing in action" afterwards. On the pilot stats AFTER i'd accepted the mission results was a # sign next to my pilot, but nothing before hand. The mission was listed as successful and everything, no indication that I'd been captured. I'm just going to have to assume that any time I bail out I'm captured or MIA to be safe. I really hope they implement some kind of warning or a definite indicator on the mission stats page.
unreasonable Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 It really ought to be blindingly obviously crystal clear if you have been killed or captured and what you have to do next - if there is any possibility of confusion on this the cosmetics need a tweak. Good suggestion. 1
