Finally, new badges! Use of ribbons was a good idea, unfortunately gold bars are not as big as they used to be

 

- Medal "For the Defence of Stalingrad"

 

 

- Medal "For the Defence of Moscow"

 

 

- Medal "For the Defence of the Caucasus", but our forum badge is not accurate in this regard

 

 

 

 

- I assume our forum badge should represent France and Germany Star but it's not accurate as well.

The France and Germany Star is a military campaign medal, instituted by the United Kingdom in May 1945 for award to subjects of the British Commonwealth who served in the Second World War, specifically for service in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands or Germany and adjacent sea areas between 6 June 1944 and 8 May 1945. It is a perfect fit for Bodenplatte operation.

I agree - people who came along later should be recognized.  Not because the present system is elitist, but because you occasionally find yourself talking to someone who has a forum account and is panning something about the game: but they do not even own it!

Nice post and I like your ribbons much more.  But The BoBP ribbon has to satisfy the Yanks too, hence the generic look I expect. And they cannot use a historically accurate ribbon, I suppose, without getting caught up in all the "stolen valor" guff.

IAW 1CR600-8-22 "Pilots that pre-order Standard Edition battles will be awarded a silver badge. Pilots that pre-order Premium Edition battles will be awarded a gold badge. Pilots must pre-order during the early access phase to be eligible for the awards."

Strange.. I see the BoK and BoS bars as the stars they used to be, but the BoM and BoBP bars as the new ribbons

Am I imagining something, is it just too much wine at lunch time, or have our forum badge ribbons for BoS and BoM changed overnight to something similar to those in Tesarus's post? I could have sworn that the BoS badge had a star on it like the silver bar in Grimm862's post.

Forum Badges - meh. Take em or leave em for me.

 

Much sooner have a "thanks" in the form of a nice well made "per order only"  skin or two.  Preferably a useable, non war thunder one unlike the orang-utan we got with the Ju52 or the bat winged Il2 in Kuban.

True - but a bronze bar for non-EA owners would still do that, as well as allowing everyone to see who has not got on board at all. Maybe without the (new?) ribbon.

Ok when you guys are whinging I'll put my wine in too... i bought 3 gold expansions, got two gold ribbons, but silver ones look much better.

Can I get silver ribbons instead of gold and still keep my premium game copies?

Why not just make a jpg of silver versions in PS or GIMP and then use it as your avatar picture, so that we do not have to look at... whatever that is?

I am hardly a young one - my first flight sim was Microprose Stealth Fighter in 1988   I vaguely know what a Muppet is, just do not watch much TV.

These bars are a token of appreciation from devs to those who belived in the project and supported it with pre-order money.

 

I like it much better than any bonus in game content since it doesn't affect the game in any way and doesn't force anyone to pre-order. Very honest and much needed practice these days.
