Mackem Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Hi I fly il2 sturmovic 1946, which I like, I bought CLOD at the early stage and even with version 4.0 update I find the stutter and frame rates rubbish. I have a HP Envy gaming PC and HP tell me I can only expect 20 or so fps in medium settings with fullscreen at 1920x1080 res. I DONT GET ANY PLEASURE FROM CLOD AND I FIND IT VERY ANNOYING. IS THIS A NOTHER RIP-OFF ????????????? Please convince me otherwise and I will buy ~S~ Geordie
ST_ami7b5 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Download free version of Rise of Flight. If it runs well on your system, BoS will too. 1
Finkeren Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 First: Consider your words a bit more carefully. Calling Things a "rip off" in all caps, and implying that BoS might be that too isn't gonna get you far. Just a friendly word of advice. In answer to your question: If your concern is the performance issues in ClOD, I can pretty much guanrantee, that you have nothing to worry about. BoS is currently an alpha build, and it is already much more stable than ClOD was, when it was released. Performance is good and not too demanding on your PC. If you wanna make sure before you buy, just download the free-to-play version of Rise Of Flight. BoS is built on an upgraded version of the Digital Nature engine that Rise Of Flight uses, and both sims are made by largely the same team. If you can run RoF on your PC, there is an excellent chance, that you can run BoS about as well.
Mackem Posted January 16, 2014 Author Posted January 16, 2014 Founder,i hear what you say-thanks for the advise! I still feel ripped off [not in caps] and I was ripped off. just look at your notice when asked to purchase BOS No refunds no refunds no refunds no refunds. its 2014 we have purchase protection laws etc looks like you don't sell your product via EU or USA Laws ? Geordie
Finkeren Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 EU law is what I have experience with, and here we don't have refund rights as long as the product bought is at least somewhat functional. But honestly I think you're worrying for no reason. Try out the free version of RoF. It's a pretty good guideline to performance in BoS.

Geordie From a technical point of view: As mentioned above - try out Rise Of Flight. If you can run that without any problems then you can run IL:2 BOS. From a 'should I buy this?' point of view: This game has absolutely nothing to do with those previous games. The only thing they share in common is the term "IL:2". However it is currently in Early Access phase. Many players (myself included) are loving the unfinished Early Access to the game - however I get the feeling that you wouldn't be one of them The full game will be released in Spring/Early Summer. I would wait until then before buying.
Emgy Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 . its 2014 we have purchase protection laws etc looks like you don't sell your product via EU or USA Laws ? Steam and gamersgate don't do refunds on a general basis. Maybe there are a few exceptions.

Geordie We all felt ermmm 'conned' from the debacle that was CLoD, however this title is like night and day. BoS even in it's alpha state is streets ahead of CLoD. The recent efforts of the TF group to address the issues with CLoD and give us a workable product have seen great strides, but even with their latest (v4.0) patch, BoS is still better in the flight department in my humble opinion of course. Bear in mind that if you do want to get into BoS in pre-release form you will have to pay about £58, but then you'll pay slightly more on release so it is a saving.
Mackem Posted January 16, 2014 Author Posted January 16, 2014 ok checked out RoF seems ok , but the game wont allow me to go into full screen. Windowed, im getting 40fps,+ or -, which seems low compared to il2 Sturmovic 1946[ 40-250fps] Is there anyway to increase this frame rate ?
Mewt Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 You can find a complete graphics performance guide by Jason here: http://riseofflight.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20189
Rama Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 ok checked out RoF seems ok , but the game wont allow me to go into full screen. It will if you setup the correct parameters, it does for everybody.
Lextor Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Similar threads arise often, I don't really understand what's the point. There are a lot of information online: reviews, youtube videos, impressions from people on this very forum. What's the point to make these people convince yourself again?
