fiddlinjim Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 The Spit IX has an RDF with two needles, the vertical needle indicates direction to the nearest field. What is the function of the horizontal needle and how does it work? I suspect it is to indicate a correct descent angle but I can't get it to work.
AndyJWest Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 I can't see any instrument that looks like a RDF. What are you referring to?
1CGS LukeFF Posted May 26, 2018 1CGS Posted May 26, 2018 There is no RDF in the Spitfire IX. You're probably thinking of the IFF device.
Trooper117 Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 Or the volt meter, or elevator position indicator...
blockheadgreen_ Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 (edited) Are you talking about the Rebecca/Eureka beam approach transponder? If the in-game model has that aerial (small semi-circular fairing with an antennae on the underside of the fuselage below the radio) then yes, the RDF system is missing.
