Giving away a processor....

I have read a couple posts on the forum of fellow flight simmers running antiquated duo core processors and worried that they wont be able to run this game properly. Im willing to give away my old processor to the first person that PMs me. I would prefer to ship it somewhere in the United States because of cost but if its not to expensive I would not mind paying a few bucks to get it to someone who truly cant afford a new one. Ive had it for about 2 years and it runs almost as fast as my new FX processor.

Specs:

AMD 960T black edition

3.0 ghz

(I have had it OC to 3.8 ghz)

This is the processor that has a chance to unlock to a 6 core but only a couple motherboard manufacturers offer an unlocker.

In addendum - I do recommend getting a motherboard that will allow the additional cores to be unlocked. I got one of these CPUs for a friend with a mobo that could unlock the 6 cores. At first it was sluggish in some instances and then remember that we forgot to unlock the additional cores. Not many titles make use of that many cores but it certainly does boost in performance general even in titles that aren't specifically programmed to use that many cores.

Great Idea Hersey,

I hope you don't mind if I copy it :-) ...

I think I have a few things that I can part with and probably someone could use.

I will make a new topic so I don't feel like I am hijacking yours...

Cheers.

Np thanks guys, for some reason I have all these spare computer parts laying around after a few years. Most of the stuff I keep in case something has a melt down but things I dont want Id donate it to a local computer shop in my area that gives away free PCs to people that are struggling in these hard times. Figured seems like a lot of people could use some help on the forums so I dont mind helping out such a wonderful community that is found on the ROF/BOS forums. Cheers!
