Re: music discussion - I was a kid in the 50s and followed popular music avidly until that disco thing - there were some excellent acts afterward, but the only fundamental innovation was Rap, which was a poor replacement for Motown.  So I went backward, and now mostly listen to popular music and jazz from the 1920's on, with a smattering of classical throw in.  Ultimately being freed from the tribal allegiance to the music of my particular youth was a wonderful thing, because there is an awful lot of great music that we haven't heard yet.
