What settings with Vive pro? Do you stick with the recommended settings Steam VR recommends.

Before with the Oculus it said 200% now with Vive Pro 126%

What about IL2 Exe app?

What about asynchromus reprojection, or Allow interveleade reprojection?

Enable advanced Supersample filtering?

Enable always on reprojection?

So far I tried it only for 5 minutes, looks good but  the sound is horrid and unacceptable for a headset that expensive.

Yeah it’s not acceptable for sure. I think I’d rather stick with the orginal to be honest as a headset that bumps up resolution will just mean lower performance until the new GPU’S come out, but even then the 1st gen headsets will still perform better and for me that’s the main thing. I have no complaints with how it looks anyway for me it looks great especially if flying with lower gamma.

I’m sticking with gen 1 until they produce a headset that lowers performance demands. I’ve even been considering getting a rift lately but probably won’t because although it seems to perform better in some ways it has its own flaws (artifacts with ASW) that I can’t be sure how I will react to and I’m sure the Vive will continue to improve.

Hopefully the new GPUs will really make a breakthrough. That said I must say by and large Im getting very good performance with BOS. It’s a fantastic experience but I use my own headphones. Booming speakers are the best thing but I know they don’t suit every occasion.

Performance is as good if not better than my Rift though, since at default settings in Vive pro  looks so good you can leave it like that and have much better performance than trying to use too much SS with Rift.

So performance wise is not an issue at all.

Artifacts with Rift are super easy to disable , press Ctrl 1 and that is all.

Wish Rift came out with this improved res headset instead of Vive.

Vive Pro is uncomfortable (probably will get used to it) but the sound I cant stand it.

Well thats good though to be honest with BOS I dont even use SS (well no more than 1.5) whereas I know many people use high settings such as 2.5 which I can assure gives poorer performance than using none whastoever! I guess its personal preference though.

Sound may improve but yeah HTC try to make everything on the peripheral as cheap as possible I think.

Oh btw best seems to be to use reprojection and always on reprojection, don’t use interleaved.

Has Anyone found the best settings for the Vive Pro for Steam VR and in game also?

mine runs fine on 1080ti, 8700k with :

in Steam VR:

-  asyn reprojection on

- always reprojection ON

- ss is at 104% last setting, but it doesn't affect squad if it's 100% or 120%, so i just left it that 104

in game:

- shadows off

- clouds low

- HDR ON

anti-aliasing x4

-  dynamic res = 0.9

the biggest impact for the above is:

- High preset =  if you get 5-8 planes in your field of view the fps drop to ~40

- Balanced preset = it's pretty much 90fps up until you get ~30 players around you (berloga)

so I fly in Balanced now. Again, I don't see much difference between high/balanced, may be it a little less contrast... but fps fluidity make up for it.
