Bost24 Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 Hello everyone, my old graphics card[HD 7950] just died and I bought a 1050TI from MSI. After that, I reset my PC and upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10. Now my problem: Everytime I play Il2, it feels laggy. I have 60FPS and no FPS drops. Nothingis overheating or 100% in use. I use TrackIR5 and everytime I turn my head, I have laggs. It´s like a micro stutter. It is very annoying and not just when I turn my head. It is every time I play Il2. This shit makes the game unplayable. Did someone have a solution for that problem? I would really like to play IL2 again. Thanks alot!
BOO Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 Did you also reinstall the game? sometimes after big updates or major hardware changes a fresh install helps. The headtracking twitch was something I could resolve this way. If you haven't already also install the latest drivers. Back up your input folder and snap views and it should be a pretty painless process.
Thad Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 (edited) Try clicking (Use 4K Textures) in your games graphics settings, and try setting windows and graphic card to Max. power. Try playing in Window mode, not full screen. Edited May 9, 2018 by Thad Clarification

No solution. 1 hour ago, Thad said: Try clicking (Use 4K Textures) in your games graphics settings, and try setting windows and graphic card to Max. power. Thad Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 (edited) What do you have your graphics 'Draw Distance' set to. If maxed out... try reducing it. Also, under Settings, Game - Check your 'Map Scenery Distance' setting. If it is high, try reducing it. Edited May 9, 2018 by Thad More information added

Thad Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 (edited) Try these setting: res: 1920x1080 no HDR or SSAO shadows high mirror complex landcsape x4 landscape filter off grass normal target fps off Antialiasing You may have to experiment to get things the way you want them. Edited May 9, 2018 by Thad
Lemon Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 (edited) hi i m curious to know did you have those problems with the ATI card ? look like the 7950 could handle better texture details, so if your game was running fine before the swap, I would only change graphic settings relative to texture the time you do your test (distant landscape normal, 2x 3x 4x) and NVidia driver pan texture to high performance, I don't see why you would change any other graphic setting since everywhere else the 1050 ti should handle better or at least even the 7950 other basic things you can try: -in bios, high precision event timer off or on, to me "on" make the game completely unplayable (constant stutters from the fist second of any mission mode) -ingame setting fullscreen disable, vsynch disable (no driver vsynch either) and run native resolution, (W10 desktop window manager use buffers to prevent tearing) -right click on ( il2.exe) file and inside compatibility tab , try both (disable/enable full screen optimization) Edited May 10, 2018 by Lemon

It helped a little bit, but everytime I turn my head with trackIR I have a huge lag On 10.5.2018 at 12:33 PM, Lemon said: hi i m curious to know did you have those problems with the ATI card ? look like the 7950 could handle better texture details, so if your game was running fine before the swap, I would only change graphic settings relative to texture the time you do your test (distant landscape normal, 2x 3x 4x) and NVidia driver pan texture to high performance, I don't see why you would change any other graphic setting since everywhere else the 1050 ti should handle better or at least even the 7950 other basic things you can try: -in bios, high precision event timer off or on, to me "on" make the game completely unplayable (constant stutters from the fist second of any mission mode) -ingame setting fullscreen disable, vsynch disable (no driver vsynch either) and run native resolution, (W10 desktop window manager use buffers to prevent tearing) -right click on ( il2.exe) file and inside compatibility tab , try both (disable/enable full screen optimization) I tried to play on low, same problem and on ultra I had the same problem aswell!
Thad Posted May 12, 2018 Posted May 12, 2018 I'm afraid I have no experience with TrackIR. I'm sure it is covered in these forums thought. Check 'head tracking' too. Make sure you don't have any unwarranted programs running in the background. They can rob from in game performance.

There shouldn´t be any unwanted programs in the background. Maybe I will find a solution. But thanks mate!
Thad Posted May 12, 2018 Posted May 12, 2018 I found the following post concerning TrackIR. Go into the game go to settings and you will see " input devices" go to "noise filter" drag the bar too 0.46 . Play around with this . if you have it all the way to the right 1. your devices will lag. Try it , then bring it down so you get a good feel .

The only thing it does, is that my joystick feels laggy
Thad Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Uhm... is there a 'noise filter' setting in the TrackIR software?

Thad Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Looks like adjusting the Motion Control settings could be key and may require some adjustments. I'd experiment.

Ok, I think, I have the solution. After turning Hyperthreading off, my laggs are almost gone. There are a couple of little laggs left, but now its playable! Thank you Thad! 15 minutes ago, Bost24 said: Ok, I think, I have the solution. After turning Hyperthreading off, my laggs are almost gone. Thad Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Try these. From others on the forums. Try v-sync " fast " in nvidia control panel and have it set "on" in game menu. This works best so far for my set-up and everything works smoothly. In Camera Options set the smoothness bar to 100 on the top right = problem solved for me. Check out the setup video for the TrackIR. It might provide some help.
