Pudfark Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 (edited) I've been looking at this one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Perfect-Matt-QNIX-QX2710-LED-Evolution-ll-27-2560x1440-PLS-Panel-Monitor-/221233250459?rd=1 At the moment, I'm running an ASUS 23" TN panel. It's ok for IL2 and older Call of Duty games. I just would like to upgrade to take advantage of BOS and the great work done on it's graphics. I'm running a Gigabyte GTX 770 with 4 gig of Vram and this card should handle it, from what I've read. Is there anybody here, with something similar or the same that can give me a clue if this will/would be a suitable upgrade? Also, anything to lookout for and or consider? Thank You. Hi, I have same VC as yours (GTX 770 4GB) and screen with native resolution 2560X1440, so in BoS (even that the graphic is not 100% ready yet) and RoF all graphic settings on max - candy and more "natural" looking picture without any performance issues (I did professional calibration on the monitor it cost nothing comparing to the result) ! I am more than satisfied! Before I get my screen (A**s), I have pay attention on this Korean monitors - they looks pretty nice, due to the matrix type (same as on one fancy brand) the color transition and specially the black color should be more natural and "rich", but the only things which stop me to buy such one, was the unclear status of warranty support on them! Yeah I come to 1440p from 1080 (4 years old monitor not for gaming) and the difference is huge I cant explain - you have to see it to understand what I mean! Hope this will help you! jaydee Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Pudvark, hold off on buying a monitor ,especially if you are running a Nvidia GPU !..I feel 2014 is goin to be the year where Monitor "Tech" is goin to start catchin up with our GPU output ! What im doing(and my advice to you),is hanging tight for acouple of months and see what pans out with "g-Sync'," "Occulus Rift",4k resoloutins and all the new Monitor options that are coming this year ! Even if you decide not to go with the "Latest" "Hi Tech" monitor, you may find, in a few months, you can buy a "Today" monitor at a fraction of "Todays" price ! That's what im doing ! ~S~
VR-DriftaholiC Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Check out this badass screen: http://www.anandtech.com/show/7627/asus-at-ces-2014 2560x1440p @120Hz!
Pudfark Posted January 15, 2014 Author Posted January 15, 2014 Thanks All, I thought about it...for a few hours and decided that it wasn't that much money to spend...worse case scenario, I'll give it to my wife to play "Farmville" if, it doesn't work out. So, I bought it from NewEgg for $10 more. Darn well worth it and just unbelievable shipping times. Ordered it through Korea and it will arrive tomorrow, less than 48 hours after ordering it. I will report here as to my thoughts/experiences with it. What prompted me to buy it was all the info on the interweb and the fact that it was half the price of the "name brands" and the same "panel" as the "name brands". I'll let y'all know how it goes. I much appreciate your advice. @jaydee I hear you. I may yet make that jump..again..this year. Thanx
Pudfark Posted January 16, 2014 Author Posted January 16, 2014 Here I am...back again. Well, it only took 46 hours for it to be shipped from Korea to my home in "Dust Bowl", Tx. Shipping cost was $9.50 US. I have never had anything shipped to me that rapidly in my own state, let alone halfway across the planet. Monitor arrived (QNIX 27" PLS 2560x1440) Not even one bad/dead pixel and zero back light bleed. I could not be happier. It's totally awesome. The difference is striking, much like going from an old dated 480P CRT TV to a new Plasma High Definition TV. It's simply stunning. It does require a high end graphics card and dual link DVI. I'm kicking myself for not buying two of them. Oh Yeah! This is gonna get overclocked. I'll remark again in a few days when the new wears off and my objectivity settles back in....

I have had an Achieva Shimian Lite 27" 2560 x1440 IP monitor and absolutely LOVE it.

Congrats Pudvark !...Do you find "Dots" are harder to spot with the higher res ?
Pudfark Posted January 18, 2014 Author Posted January 18, 2014 @jaydee I ran a few NTRK's from IL2 a few hours after installation...the terrain maps, I didn't see a discernible difference. However on the aircraft, it was mind blowing boggling. May have to do with the most recent patches? I've yet to get on line with squad...so no, at the moment...I don't know. I'll do it tomorrow and will post here. I'm still "riding" the buzz from the clarity. I'll suck it up and be objective on "Dot" thingy.
