303darro Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 I'm trying to setup GUI/HUD best to my current flying needs. I only started to learn the sim and some first aircrafts, so technical tips/notifications and object markers are very useful to me. However I like high reality settings, and would like to learn to pilot using real instruments mostly. So what I'd like to set is to have notifications and object markers visible but NOT the instrument panel in lower left corner. But I can't find a combination of settings that would allow me that. I can turn off the instrument panel and leave the object markers on with a combination of "H" and "I", but then I loose notifications. And in addittion loose also text communication popups (which renders it incomprehensible - since it's hard to hear it clear and I don't know russian nor german well). Can somebody help? Am I missing something?
dburne Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 (edited) I set mine to a toggle button, if there is speech going on that I think may be important I will toggle it on briefly and then back off. I do this mainly to keep performance up most of the time. I have my icons on a toggle button as well. Edited May 4, 2018 by dburne 1
RedKestrel Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 Is there not an option to turn off the instrument panel but leave all other notifications? I can see all tech tips and radio calls, but no instrumentation on my setup.
-TBC-AeroAce Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 The hud, chat, technochat and notifications are all linked. It's is really annoying actually.
Trooper117 Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 My hud is off, but I have techno chat and radio message on. I simply press H and messages and techno stuff is enabled but no hud... I am on 'custom' settings.
dburne Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 I think the HUD is still technically on when you can see techno chat and radio messages, just have the minimap closed. When HUD is off ( what they call hidden), one gets no messages or techno chat.
