I just noticed that in the editor, there's now a "fake_vehicle" object in the "Vehicles" list. Does anyone know what this is and how it can be used?

Same as Fake Block with Linked Entity vehicle durability and options. Makes a nice explosion when blown up.

Oh nice, so I could use it as a spotter. How about beacon channel, is it still restricted to work only with NDBs?

Ok tested this. Spotting works and so does beacon channel 1 :)

What didn’t work was moving :(

Perhaps they drew the line at having invisible convoys roaming across the countryside.

I am curious what you were hoping to do with a moving fake vehicle that involved spotting functionality.    I can see that parking a fake vehicle might be useful if you parked it near a route enemy tanks might take so it can report seeing them but I cannot guess what you were doing that involved driving towards the enemy.   All I can think of is uncovering a potential target a set time after the map starts rather than waiting for  a player to find it.

You got me wrong. I was just testing the possibilities, not planning to have a moving invisible spotter :)

It _would_ be really nice to have some kind of a fake vehicle with less resources needed for moving it, and be able to spawn actual vehicles that replace it when a player comes within a set distance.

That's good to know the fake vehicle makes a nice boom. Sounds like any targets in Stalingrad will be fake vehicles instead of normal fake blocks from hence forth :)

Just ran a test with 8 fake vehicles with "command damage" MCU's linked to them, in 2 second intervals.

Nice effect!

Now we just need the ability to spawn craters.

 

In any case if you want the fine tune the effect of a player airbase getting shelled or bombed, this a good tool.

Also for some extra battlefield effects this can work too.,

Tests are running fine my friend. ;)

The dev is a little busy (which explain that it takes time), but at that time there are a few modification to make (if we can), for the test model.
