US63_SpadLivesMatter Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 I've been noticing that the engine noise in-cockpit seems to be subdued in replays, while wind noise seems to be quite loud. This is only in replays for some reason. I've tried tweaking the in-game sound settings to no avail. Has anyone else had this problem? What did you do to fix it?
LeLv30_Redwing- Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Yes, you´re right. Haven't figured out anything to solve that, hoping devs will address that asap. Patch changed many things...
Rjel Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Newly recorded tracks since the last big patch work fine for me. Anything recorded prior to that have the no engine sound problem. The tracks themselves play back correctly otherwise.
US63_SpadLivesMatter Posted May 2, 2018 Author Posted May 2, 2018 (edited) I have engine sound in newly recorded tracks, but the volume is low; especially in relation to wind noise. It actually sounds like the track thinks the canopy is open. Edited May 2, 2018 by hrafnkolbrandr

In replay mode, sound occlusion no longer works and we hear all the sounds of the external view in internal view. if we record for example a mission against bombers we hear very loudly all the engines of the bombers and the machine guns also .
Quickhats Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 I've had this problem during gameplay and at least 2 other people in one server (Wings of Liberty) have had the same issue. All of the engine sounds are reduced and the only way to counter is it to exit and re-enter.

I dont have this problem in normal mode but thank you for this information.Indeed it's as if the "replay" think that the cockpit is open. Please devs correct this bug .
spamRoast Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 (edited) I've noticed the same thing too. I was going to record a flight then record one video (with GeForce) where I'm currently flying then another where I'm playing the record of that flight. There's a clear difference in the engine sounds. There's also another bug where when you switch to the attached cameras on AI planes, you don't hear any engine sound at all. You just hear the sounds of air changes when the plane moves. If you switch to the attached camera of the player you can hear the engine (although the engine sound still sounds similar to the OPs post). I will create a separate post about the bug about attached camera on AI planes. I just wanted to add it here so the devs know there are a few sound bugs with the flight records since they could be related. The flight records are a huge part of the fun for me. spamRoast Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 (edited) BTW, this bug thread a duplicate of the thread below. You can see my post and others there to see the clear difference. What's interesting though is that I've had the problem since I got the game in Dec '17 which was before 3.001 so I'm not sure why it's a new problem for some people. Perhaps my brain is failing me though. Edited June 18, 2018 by obit
