Just a quickie:

Now we have the A20 which can attain high altitudes (as can the he111), above 5000m, does the wind speed and direction continue to vary as it has at lower altitudes, or does it stay the same as 5000m? (in the sim, of course, not real life)

the attached screenshot shows the wind speed values you can set in the mission editor. So up to 5000m it can vary.

This variations in wind speed/velocity set in M.Builder is translated for bombardier briefing or mission maker need do this manually?

..so for example, at 7000m the winds will be the same as 500m?

Yes, you have to put this information in the mission briefing by hand (the career generates this) and yes, above 5000m it seems the wind doesn’t change.

Question: when you fly the bomber, which value should you use to correct for wind? The closest one to the bomber's altitude or the sum of all values below?

I take the closest to the bombers altitude.

We routinely fly the 88 over 5K, sometimes up to 7K. In these instances, we just use the 5000m value - the wind does not seem to change above this.

By the way James, we see you often on Finnish - you would be welcomed to join us on our bomb runs any time. :salute:

It is a valid point.  Technically if the lower winds were very different to those at our drop height then it is wrong to use the higher value eg to adjust for a 20 m/s Westerly wind over a 5000m drop when the winds are actually 10 m/s from ESW for 4000m of it :-)    You just have to make a judgement like an archer trying to compensate for varying crosswinds across the path to the target. In the above example you might adjust for an ESE wind of 12 m/s or maybe just use the higher value and hope it is close enough.
