View "External Free Camera at Player Plane"

I notice that the View "External Free Camera at Player Plane"  is always focused on the plane.  In COD the 'Event' of 'External View' is kind of looking at the player's plane but with my TRACK IR I can look left or right and up and down from some point of view.  I really like this.  Perhaps I have missed it but I don't find command quite the same in BOS.

Am I right?  If not what might be the command or commands to achieve something similar?

To partly answer my own question I can do something like this by moving my mouse, but the action steps involved don't seem to be able to be mapped to TRACK IR like it can to a mouse.

I have asked for this " feature" that other flight sims have, on a few occasions, in the suggestions thread, in the questions to developers thread, and others. I would encourage anyone that would like to see this to do the same.

I fear this is not on the list of things to consider doing, ROF does not have that ability either.

I hate having to use my POV hat to pan in external view, I much prefer that hat freed up for other things seeing as how I have no need for it in cockpit with my Track IR.

As an option, that's fine to be added eventually. I hated the TrackIr bound external view in CoD, so I would prefer it not be unless it's introduced as an option between mouse or TrackIr.

The mouse control in external is something that works much better, as you can pan around and then leave it where it is and the camera will continue to face that direction. With TrackIr, I'd have to hold my head in an awkward position to maintain the continuous external viewpoint.

I also like externals by Trackir but you can use the mouse by hitting F9 to pause Trackir.

CoD does a really bad job of utilising TrackIR to control the external views. However, it has been very well done in ArmA 3, and I would welcome something similar in BoS (as an option, of course; I'm all for giving people options!).

DCS uses the mouse for externals, which is fine, but one thing I particularly like is that it remembers the camera zoom and orientation for each object you view; this is a great feature.

No TrackIR for external views please, that is nightmarish in CloD.

All one has to do if using Track IR, is pause it whilst in external view if they prefer not to use it.

If however it does not have the ability to be used externally, the ones that would like it do not have a choice.

At first i didn't like the TIR for externals.

But now that i'm used to it, i'm missing it in all others sims!

That's finally great to keep right hand on stick while in F2 F3, instead of having to leave it to take the mouse in hand (for right handers).

I'd like to have this feature in BOS as well.

When it's done well it is very good though. CoD did not do it well.

I dont miss it. Like others, i would find myslef looking at some very odd angles to get the right look on the monitor. It so much less fatiguing to have on a hat switch.

I mean if it's an option, then sure (off by default pleaes :P) so everyone can be happy, but not at the expense of more features/planes etc etc.
