wilso Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Hi All, I was playing as a HE 111 gunner with a mate but couldn't switch between the guns, during Multi player Dogfight. Is this something that could be implemented and also operate as the bombardier so the pilot can concentrate on flying? The sim its self is fantastic it was just an observation by both my self and my mate. Thanks,
Finkeren Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Functional bombardier position is not possible. It is hard coded into the game engine, that there can be only one crew position controlling the flight controls, so it’s simply not currently possible to have the dual controls necessary to have a bombardier.

Thanks for the response and what about the function of jumping between gun positions, when acting as a gunner?

Would it be possible to code in an instrument adjustment value that non-pilot can set and pilot's machine will read this value and fly according to it, something like an autopilot control which follows bombardier input? It's not non-pilot flying plane directly but having pilot's autopilot take cues from non-pilot.

Re not being able to shift between guns, I guess thats a bit more realistic as there was usually a 1 to 1 (gunner to gun) ratio on bombers so you just manned the one you were given.
354thFG_Leifr Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 (edited) The pilot of the aircraft is free to cycle between available gun positions. Unfortunately, any one else in a gunner position must leave the aircraft and rejoin if they desire to move to a different position however they can change guns on the same position (JU-88 upper rear left/right, for example). It is a problem and I hope that, one day, we may see some attention given to multi-crew aircraft. Edited April 30, 2018 by Leifr

I understand but this is a computer game and my mate wanted me to take the gun on all positions so he can concentrate on flying
