Problematic actually, as camo paint during the war, especially the early parts of the war, were NOT gloss.  Unlike airshow aircraft today.

 

A glint off the canopy is perfectly fine, but the "show car" paint on the aircraft in the sim is totally wrong.

 

For the Western Allies, especially the USAAF, this was the rule until late in the war when air superiority in Europe had been achieved and we began leaving bombers and fighters in their raw aluminum skins, and some fighter units would wax/polish their aircraft to get higher performance.

It is a good thing that the game engine is capable of these advanced effects, as they enhance other visuals for sure.
