The A-20 is Pretty Sweet

I flew the A-20 for the first time in MP. First mission I destroyed an artillery emplacement, destroyed a tank, and then shot down an HE-111. I had read that the A-20 was considered overpowered (in a good way) by its pilots, and that really comes through when you fly her. Once you drop your bomb load it handles like a dream considering its size. Very fun plane to fly.

Yup, very maneouverable, fast, nimble, but quite vulnerable too (which sounds spot on, historically). Would be interesting to see the A20G someday, up armored and with solid nose full of fixed guns.

I have only done a test flight in it so far, just to get the feel... I'll make sure I'm up to speed though before the campaign for it is released

Definitely a capable plane, versatile and surprisingly nimble for it's size.

The engine management also adds to the fun factor.

It wasn't the plane I was the most hyped for during BoK development, but since it came out I can say that I truly enjoy flying it.

I met a formidable pilot in an A20 the other night online and boy he could throw that thing around and it turned very well. I was impressed.

Those are virtues of the A-20 variant we have. It had absolutely no armour, self-sealing fuel tanks or proper offensive and defensive guns, but that made it very light and fast.

I didn't find A-20 to bee that vulnerable to be honest. Its not a Pe-2 but it certainly outlives the bf110 by a margin

Still doesn't light up in flames like a JU88, and the crew does just fine without that armour. 

 

Wings don't like to fall off like the 110 or Henschel which is definitely a bonus.

IIRC loading your AI wingmen with bombs on the wings only (and nothing in the bomb-bay doors) would force the AI to conduct bombing in the ground attack manner instead of the default level bombing procedure it takes. 

 

I've yet to try this in the Career (currently distracted by the G-6), but this is something that may allow your flight to conduct fast and low-level bombing strikes on targets like some A-20s did in the Pacific. 

 

Needless to say I love the A-20. You'd think it's just a demure, distractingly good-looking level bomber or raider. But when you start to turn with other fighters in a dogfight that really catches people off-guard.

i love that she taxis so well and easily compared to say the JU88. Good to have a western a/c too.

Well, of course. It has a tricycle landing gear instead of being a taildragger. As a real life pilot with lots of time in taildraggers, I can tell you that there's an old saying that you haven't stopped flying a taildragger until you've parked it.

Ah, so I'm not the only one with the feeling that the 88 is catching fire way too often !
