Requiem Posted February 24, 2014 Author Posted February 24, 2014 What FFB settings are you using? In game and profiler. Thanks In-game is max and the windows settings are all 40% in the "force feedback" section, and 20% for "spring centering."
3ra_kiki Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Thanks for the video and the profiles Requiem, especially these last, beginning to go crazy to not get everything to work properly.
Mastermariner Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 BTW a new post in the "Hardware, software.." forum with the G940 and TIR profiles would be welcomed. Master
Requiem Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 BTW a new post in the "Hardware, software.." forum with the G940 and TIR profiles would be welcomed. Master The thread has been stickied in general discussion by Jason, so I don't think I need to double up in the hardware section as it should be pretty visible here. Now that the update has gone live this weekend... for anyone who has grabbed the G940 control package could you please let me know how the install goes, if the double functionality is working, and of course any general feedback on the profile itself. I won't be aware if something is right/wrong unless you guys let me know Cheers! 1
dburne Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Very glad to see this is pinned now. Thank you very much Requiem, your efforts are much appreciated! 1
71st_AH_Hooves Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) I wish my G940 throttle still worked. it took a crap a long time ago. Crappy Logitech, but awesome Requiem!! Edited March 1, 2014 by SYN_Hooves
siipperi Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Nice vids but I must say: don't use other peoples tir profiles because distance and positioning is different on every people, everyone should make their own profile. That way you can tune best for your setup.
Requiem Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 Nice vids but I must say: don't use other peoples tir profiles because distance and positioning is different on every people, everyone should make their own profile. That way you can tune best for your setup Thanks Slipperi, you make a good point about the positioning, but not everyone can easily make their own so that's why I decided to make my personal one available. I've even modified it for some people who needed a few tweaks, but were unable to do it properly themselves. My profile also isn't specific for one sim as I use for it Cliffs of Dover, DCS, RoF, and Arma. I only tend to post on RoF and BoS forums, but it definitely has some broad appeal because I've seen it recommended across various simming communities like ATAG, WarThunder, SimHQ etc. I imagine this is because I have a fairly standard setup which many people would have. Ie - I sit in a normal swivel office chair about 3ft away from the center of the monitor which the TIR unit sits on. But yeah, if you are able to make your own profile then you probably don't need to use mine
dburne Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) I have been using your ROF Track IR profile for quite some time, across all my flight sims, and love it. Thanks for all your efforts! Edited March 1, 2014 by dburnette
oneeyeddog Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I also use your TIR profile, Requiem, and the training videos you produced for Rise of Flight were indispensable to me as I returned to Flight Sims after an absence of nearly 15 years. Thanks.
Requiem Posted March 2, 2014 Author Posted March 2, 2014 Thanks DBurnette and Oneeyeddog, it's nice to hear that you guys like the TIR profile and videos. If you ever have suggestions on what you want to see feel free to let me know. Update 2 Mar 2014: IL-2 (AM-38) Familiarisation See first post for video. Next video will likely be Stuka familiarisation, but I've also started a Stuka dive bombing one too since I've had a lot of fun doing it. Still playing the waiting game on MP release plus the enabling of free camera before I can start on the good stuff to really showcase the sim
pilotpierre Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Another well done for the IL2 Req. Look forward to the Stuka one.
errand_boy Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Great job on the videos, they have been a big help for me! I will give your IR profile a go next. Keep up the great work, look forward to more vids.
Warpig Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 (edited) So glad you're doing these Requiem. I learned a ton from your RoF videos and I look forward to see more from you in this game. Keep up the great work! Edited March 4, 2014 by Warpig
Tartan Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Excellent videos as usual Requiem. Look forward to seeing more. Keep up the good work.

J4SCrisZeri Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Speechless, this is impressive to say the least!
3ra_kiki Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Hi all, I downloaded the profiles for the G940 TiR and proves as soon as possible. Thank you very much for your fantastic job, it's great for me, now that work with children and have almost no time to experiment, as in the past.
Wildbill Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Requiem: Excellent work, very informative. Thank You, Bill
coldViPer Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Tnx Requiem, your TrackIr profile is much better than mine. Works for me
pilotpierre Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Tnx Requiem, your TrackIr profile is much better than mine. Works for me Et Moi mon ami. Didn't know I was cunnilingual did you Req?
BigPickle Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Does the latest version of FlightFX work with the latest version of BoS? Also which exe should i point FlightFX at, because ive just tried it and not my game is screwed and wont load up so i have to resintall
cgagan Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Just subscribed. Great videos! Clear instructions and excellent visual demonstration. I am going to study them thoroughly. Many thanks for your offer,
BigPickle Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 No the latest version of FlightFX doesnt work with BoS, it will damage your install and the only way to fix it is by uninstalling. I'm not coming back to this game for a while, to many unistalls.
germanicusbradleydog62 Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Many thanks for the 6DOF profile..I can really see the difference and I mean "see" literally. I have never flown a real AC or studied anthing about AC control. I know the developers are working hard to duplicate the original flight models. I have RoF, Cod, and BoS. Years ago EAW. The sims offer as do the joystick software ways to adjust dead zone, flight stick curves etc. I have no idea what is correct but have fiddled now and then. Have you written a post about the general pluses and minuses of these adjustments? I don't have a baseline to understand the implications of these choices. But, I confess, all I really like to do is fly around, enjoy the view, and avoid these pesky AC which send tracers by me CP. I am a BoB, WW2, and Ancient Rome history buff. Evenso, if some info is available I would like to know more. I have ordered the X55 from Amazon 4APR and will retire my X52Pro. I have been reading the manual to avoid those sharp "RTFM!!" replies.

No worries Bradley. I made a video about how curves work a while ago for Rise of Flight, but in BoS the process is simplified a great deal. Without a curve the joystick input (range) and in-game control movement is linear. However, adding a curve makes this relationship a tradeoff of sensitivity between the joystick and in-game movements. In BoS, by adding a curve you need more joystick movement for the same amount of in-game control movement (less sensitive), but as you get towards the end of the joystick's movement you get more in-game control movement for less joystick movement (more sensitive). You can find that video on curves below. It should help. Edited March 11, 2014 by SYN_Requiem
BigPickle Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 No offence but you're mistaken. FlightFX hasn't been updated since it's original version. There are lots of people using it successfully. This thread is testament to that and there are posts inside with working instructions. I think you've probably made a mistake when installing it. {edit} Direct link to post with instructions: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/4628-very-sweetfx/?p=96407 ok, "one last time into the breach dear friends"
germanicusbradleydog62 Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Many thanks to you both above. I had no frame of reference. 1

URUAker Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Thanks Requiem! since TIR is discussed here. Can I ask if its possible to get freetrack working with BOS?
Requiem Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 Thanks Requiem! since TIR is discussed here. Can I ask if its possible to get freetrack working with BOS? I'd say it would be possible. I believe Freetrack works in RoF, so I'd see no reason why it wouldn't work in BoS. I have no experience using it though and I doubt you'll get any developer response as they don't support it natively like TIR.
wormeaten Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I'd say it would be possible. I believe Freetrack works in RoF, so I'd see no reason why it wouldn't work in BoS. I have no experience using it though and I doubt you'll get any developer response as they don't support it natively like TIR. I'm using FacetrackNoIR with IR clip and it is working flawlessly. Freetrack didn't release nothing new for more than two years now and FacetrackNoIR is still in progress developing, new filters and more support. They have even support for gyro sensors. No camera needed only Gyro for now work as 3DoF (Pitch, Roll and Yaw). But I got other problem. I got G940 and when I do what it say in installation guide my IL2 BoS want start. After initial screen when I got to situation to switch on login screen I stock in black screen with mouse cursor without further progress. In TaskManager don't have massage program not responding but actually nothing happened like is not responding. Any help about it?
wormeaten Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 (edited) current.responses file cousin problems. When I delete it its start game, default.responses file is empty. I guess this is your axis set up, dead zones curves etc. Edited March 16, 2014 by wormeaten
