kuro Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Hello there what gpu is better performing in BOS ? Nvidia 7xx series or radeon R9 2xx ? I am considering 270x vs 760. What would be the better choice ?
FuriousMeow Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 In the development process of the Digital Nature engine, nVidia provided much more assistance in development while AMD for the most part didn't lend any help or insight. So nVidia in general will have been better programmed for due to the assistance from that company while AMD was less receptive to the development process. However, hardware advice should go into the hardware and software section and not here.
wombatBritishBulldogs Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 My advice is go with nVidia I stuck with Amd and there so called drivers for way to long have had nothing but problem after problem It's like once they have your cash it's problem solved for them, there about as much help a flat tyre on a highway . 1
kuro Posted January 13, 2014 Author Posted January 13, 2014 Thank you all for info. FuriousMeow sorry for OT but it seemed to me obvious to put it here, since I am asking particulary for performance right now in early access. But you have your point and I agree, feel free to relocate this post or even delete.
LLv44_Mprhead Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I have radeon 7870 and I have no problems with amd drivers. That said, GTX760 is in general stronger card than R9 270, so if there is no noticeable difference in price, I would go for 760.
LLv34_Flanker Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 (edited) S! wombatTobie, please stop spreading this driver issue mantra on AMD. The "green team" has them as well. In general those driver "problems" people talk about are mostly due their own actions. I've run both brands and had my share of problems on both, but in general trouble free experiences on both. People expect their games to run with all kinds of tweaks applied and then blame vendor/drivers if the game goes hooters up. AMD has improved a great deal regarding drivers and my 290X runs ALL my games glitch free and with very good FPS. For example tried Cliffs Of Dover cross country mission, FPS was sitting at 121FPS as that is my refresh rate..So no buggy drivers there If want to compare GPU's there are quite a few charts on Guru3D for example. They have different resolutions and detail levels used and a wealth of GPU's tested. Worth taking a look if considering a new GPU. The rest is up to you. Edited January 15, 2014 by LLv34_Flanker
