GOA_ViperARG Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 Hi folks, I'm not happy with the performance of servers and the menus of the game. I think we already paid a lot of money for a game that is 4 years old and still has way too many issues. I've got all DLCs. I keep getting disconnected from master servers quiet often, lately more than usual. Menus, maps, selectable buttons are quiet bugged and is so annoying. I lost desires to play the game due to all this problems. War Thunder sim mode was not realistic but it did not have all this problems. Ergo more fun. I also thought I would be able to play campaigns with my friends without to build a complex server. The game should have Steam servers hosted in real servers. Not on a windows server PC on some random dude's house. I will not buy boddenplatte until I see a real improvement on multiplayer mode. 1
-TBC-AeroAce Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 I love this Sim/game!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT I want the devs to sort out and fix the small things before they get to making the next thing! I understand they need to make money but core things are not "streamlined" yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1
ShamrockOneFive Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 (edited) Servers, multiplayer interface, etc. are all problems for this series but these are not small changes. They are substantial ones. IL-2 has had some weaknesses in both multiplayer and single player areas. They have spent the past year trying to address a lot of these things and I really think they hit the home run when it came to the single player experience. Both Career and Scripted Campaigns add a ton to that side of things. This year for IL-2: Battle of Bodenplatte it sure sounds like multiplayer is the focus. For the second time tonight I will copy and paste this: Quote Larger Picture As you can see we have ambitious plans for Sturmovik. No doubt you will have many questions and concerns about what we have announced. The bigger picture is that are now ready to try making parallel products for our WW2 fans, WW1 fans and possible new customers who enjoy tank battles. But beyond that, we hope to accomplish the following in our next development cycle. - New MP matchmaking system and lobby with chat - Improvements to aircraft fuel systems and add drop tanks - Oxygen masks for pilots at high attitude - Jet engine technology and associated physics of higher Mach numbers - Improvements to AI - Option for 4K skins by default and preview pics in the GUI for Custom skins - In-Game Model Viewer (hold over from Kuban) - Mods On/Off (hold over from Kuban) - More attractive GUI and better GUI optimization …. and many other small, medium and large improvements to usability, functionality and performance. That was November so its not new information but we know that the team is going to be working on some pretty important stuff more on the multiplayer side of things during the development of Bodenplatte. Not included in the list is Air Marshal. They tackled one seriously lacking side of the product. I've got faith they will tackle the other side with the same attention to detail. 26 minutes ago, AeroAce said: I love this Sim/game!!!!!!!!!!!!! Doesn't work this way. The team isn't one organism that spits out a new piece of content. They are specialists in art, programming, 3d modeling, etc. Stopping work in one part of the team doesn't make the other part of the team go faster. Edited April 25, 2018 by ShamrockOneFive 1

The ability to run the DServer gives mission designers some freedom. The community isn't completely dependent upon things that can change on a whim. Of course, the software does have some performance issues. However, centralized control of servers is not the solution.

Multiplayer as of a couple hours ago is completely broken. No servers showing up whatsoever. MP has taken a tremendous hit with bugs and performance issues since 3.001 and I hope they sort it out. But everytime I make time to play the game at the end of the day I get a bad experience. I get disconnected from master server in the middle of a mission, servers wont show up. Mission briefing on a servers bugs and I have to hop out the SV and come back in. Once I get to play fine I lost all the motivation. How I curretly feel about IL2 BoX: Hey Viper wanna play some Il2? "mmmmm...." open Il2, something gets bugged. "nuuh mate I pass for tonight" Close Il2, run CSGO. Play it for 2 hours. Edited April 25, 2018 by GOA_ViperARG
