RedKestrel Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 I've gotten myself setup for head tracking now (EDTracker and OpenTrack), and even with my limited experience I don't know how I could go back to flying without it. I've tried out the headtracking in Il-2 1946 and in BoX. In BoX I'm finding that the head position seems a little more limited. For example, when I'm flying the I-16 I seem to only be able to pitch up my head about 45 degrees, where I can still see the top of the plane's windscreen. So I have a bit more trouble tracking planes in that axis. Is this normal (i.e. a realistic limitation on cockpit head movement), or is this something I need to work out in OpenTrack (right now max pitch output is 90 degrees, which seems higher than the allowable range of motion). Sitting in my chair at my desk, it seems like I should be able to tilt my head back a little higher, but then I've never sat in an I-16! Any help appreciated!

No_85_Gramps Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 (edited) Here is how I have pitch set. Max rotation can be what ever you are comfortable with. Edited April 25, 2018 by Gramps
RedKestrel Posted April 25, 2018 Author Posted April 25, 2018 Ok thanks. I will try that’s my open track looks slightly different so I may have a different version.
