Black screen freeze when failing to enter server

In the past, if you tried to get on a multiplayer server and for whatever reason you couldn't, it would just boot you back to the Multiplayer screen.  Now, as of 3.002b, failure to enter then server results in a black screen,  and game freezes up.  Apologies if this has already been reported.
