InProgress Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 (edited) So i decieded to learn a bit about this campaign of next expansion, I bought this book: [Did not bother to censore swastica since it's on the book so i guess it's legal and also Rommel's head is covering it ] It has really cool map, big part of our ingame map. As you can see there is huge line of defences around city, trenches, anti tank traps, wire etc. I wonder if we will have this line in game. So, any interesting events we can see in game from that battle? + some books about north africa campaign? So kind of a thread to talk about history Edited April 24, 2018 by InProgress 1
Trooper117 Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 ''A History of the Mediterranean Air War'' a six volume series of books from Christopher Shores covers the air fighting around Tobruk in volumes 1 and 2. They are a momentous study on the day to day air fighting that includes the whole of the Med area. Each book is over 500 pages, and packed with information... well worth the cost if you can afford them. Volume 4 will be out this year in September 1 1
Sokol1 Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Good book, detailing engagements day by day, resuming claims - as always over claims, and looses by both sides, a preview in Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/History-Mediterranean-Air-War-1940-1945-ebook/dp/B00HCOFSS6/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr= Available in affordable version for Kindle.
InProgress Posted April 25, 2018 Author Posted April 25, 2018 Wow this book looks really great it's very expensieve tho, and in english. Asked a publisher of history books in my country, really hope they will be interested in that book. Seems like really good work describing everything in that theatre.
Mysticpuma Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 I'm currently reading this book at it has huge amounts of detail about the North Africa conflict, especially in the timeline for v5.00
InProgress Posted April 26, 2018 Author Posted April 26, 2018 I wish books like this would be published in my country I think I bought every good available ww2 book here. It's rare to see something about air war, unless it's british and battle of England. Books with german perspective aren't that popular. But I got today 2 new ones operation taifun and Dunkirk. Kind of nice how playing game based on some event makes you want to learn more about this event.
