Can we get the option for tracer-less ammo?

Like the title says I'd really like to get the option to adjust the amount of tracers carried, even going without them entirely. However, I also see the relevance on whether this fits historically into the current theatres. I'm not all that sure about the eastern front, but I seem to recall reading about squadrons in other theatres of the war going without them. Thoughts?

Where it was historical, you get tracerless ammo in the sim as well. Selecting ShVAK equipped I-16 early enough, for example. Or MiG/La-5 with AP ammo. You can't control this option on your own tho.

I was thinking more along the lines of CLoD where you could adjust the tracer amount in the belt and set vertical convergence as well. As you mentioned we have limited options with some of the VVS craft but nothing for Luftwaffe AFAIK.

Just no, no thanks. That CLOD rainbow laser tracer buffoonery doesn't belong in this sim. People would abuse it just like they do over there.

OK agreed. So how about just a traceless option for any aircraft? Which is really what I was after anyway. And no this was not a sly thread to troll this sim over Clod. I prefer BoX.

I’m actually curious, I know horizontal convergence is straightforward, but does the cortical convergence match horizontal?   So 300m horizontal would be 300 vertical?  Then 400 h to 400 v?   Or would it stay 400h to 300v... for example....I don’t know what the default vertical is...

Vertical and horizontal are linked in this sim. Setting 150 convergence effects horizontal crossing and vertical lift of the gun.

Ok awesome...  was having some gunnery issues with the la-5s and found a higher convergence can work, seeing as the guns are close on the nose , helps in the turn fight getting over that radial...

And the next step for multiplayer stealth is an active cloak like Predator.

There is historical evidence for this as the tempest footage below shows. Against air targets you see no tracers but clear hits near the middle of the video. It seems against ground targets tracers were preferred as they can clearly be seen near the end of the footage. Only question is by who and when was this tactic used?

I do not doubt that it was used at some point.

And I'm not a realism fanatic because I perfectly understand the limitations of games/simulators.

It's always good to have different options, but if I were to implement this, I got one would do it in a way that can be locked by server admins/creators.

Looks like the pilots choice against the V1 flying bomb (Doodle Bug) was no HE, just AP only; probably a good idea.

Happy landings,

Wow exploding bombs on hit, that would be something. I don't think it does it in game but would be amazing to see that.
