PatrickAWlson Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 Brown's claim passes the smell test and IMHO in no way was he telling a lie. He shot at a plane. The plane crashed. He claimed it. It was only the fact that it was MvR that the "who got him" study commenced. The autopsy may have been rudimentary but it was still far more than would have been done on anybody else. The timeline study also indicates that Brown would not have fired the fatal shot, but that too only comes about because a somebody bothered to try to make a timeline. If the pilot of the triplane was Hans Schmidt nobody would have bothered and Brown's victory would not have been questioned.
