Gheoss Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 This is great! that detail thou! Thank you for maintaining this awesome sim alive!
Pupo Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 The wellington cockpit looks... weird. Almost like one of those "3D" pictures of cockpits you see in museum websites, without any 3D detail, just very detailed textures. Glad you were able to get help from TD for the AI. What they did in 1946 really was amazing.
69thSpiritus Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 (edited) Wellington photos 1 and 3 use a wide camera angle to show more of the model, which is why they have that look. Not sure what you mean by "without any 3D detail" though, everything in the gunner spot is 3d. Edited March 23, 2018 by 69thSpiritus_Mortem

The actual MG looks like 1 block with a high res texture mapped into it. It probably is the fact that it is not imported to the game yet that it makes it look weird.
sevenless Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 Happy to learn this game has a future. Keep it coming!
Missionbug Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 (edited) The detail on the Wellington is amazing, many I am sure will be looking forward to trying that aircraft more than any other. And for me the Bf108 Taifun Advanced Trainer of course. There always has been a wealth of game objects so great to see even more are in the works as well. Thank you very much for the update, really appreciated. Wishing you all the very best, Pete. Edited March 23, 2018 by Missionbug 1
BOO Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 nice to see the front of bomber you can actually sit in. Don't suppose you're doing an A20 are you? Just sayin like... 2

True, some of the rivets are texture. To do all the rivets and holes as 3d would impact too many PC's with less than ideal FPS because that would add roughly 30k tris, which is more than double the existing tri count of the turret as is, just in rivets. We have to find that balance where things look good but are not pushing too many tris. 3
InProgress Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 For SP front, can we count on career mode like in BoX?
Robert_Molders Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 Great news thanks for the very interesting update! Keep up with the good work! S!
buster_dee Posted March 25, 2018 Posted March 25, 2018 Love the Wellington turrets. Thanks for the great update.
smink1701 Posted March 25, 2018 Posted March 25, 2018 Wonderful news and I will buy Tobruk! However, would love to see a merging of the game interface so if you go from playing IL2 to Cliffs they seem more similar. There are a few things I appreciate about IL2 that I'd love implemented in Cliffs -Ability to toggle aircraft labels on off -Independent zoom commands so if you zoom when in outside view you aren't zoomed in when you go back to cockpit view -I use track ir and I hate that to move views around the aircraft in outside view you need to rotate your head. Arg. Stuff like that.

smink1701 Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 They have the code and its just a request. I'll buy regardless.

Blitz issues have showed that this code seems an outdated version, not incorporating all fixes (and broken's) of Lutier crew... probable for some cases need be fixed before used. At least "Ability to toggle aircraft labels on off" maybe are not difficult to implement, as icons/labels in CloD is managed by the same 'mp_dotrange' of IL-2:46 and a key for toggle icons is this old game was introduced after the initial release. CloD need urgently a remake of their GUI. Edited March 27, 2018 by Sokol1 1
=FEW=Hauggy Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Come on guys give us some eye candy! ^^ Gosh I wonder what you'll showcase this week.

Missionbug Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 Coming along nicely, thank you very much for the update, really appreciated. Looking forward to this, always did like the desert campaigns in IL-2 1946, will be interesting to try the Cr-42 and Gladiator. Just wondering how exactly TF.5 will be released, will we get the completed item once it is finished or are you going to go along the current battles series route of pre-order with updates as and when available? Wishing you all the very best, Pete.
Lusekofte Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 I am going to be dead meat in a CR 42 or a Gladiator for a long time, occasional wellington pilot also. I gonna spend hours and days spinning earthward to a glorious virtual death
=FEW=Hauggy Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 That's pretty neat. Can't wait to fly that Italian beast!!!
BOO Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 (edited) Thanks SM. As well as moderator privileges the Clod dev updates need sticky-ing and treating like Han's 777 developer posts - one locked thread for the post, one for discussion. Edited April 7, 2018 by BOO 2
Sokol1 Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 (edited) Quote The issue of AI vehicles not crossing bridges Seems this issue is in bridge 3D - bridge level are above the terrain around. Sometimes (rare) a big wheels truck are able to "jump" over this invisible obstacle and cross the bridge. Don't help too the fact that at some point the code for roads don't match roads graphics anymore. Edited April 7, 2018 by Sokol1
No.54dixx Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 (edited) awesome pictures of the Cr.42 :D i've noticed a few ships screenshots there, but i don't think i've actually seen one of a carrier yet? is the martlet going to have carrier ops? it's the thing that excites me most about TF5 :D and about that, how's the work on the Martlet going? any new cool updates? :D I don't think i've seen anything about it in a while, or i might have just missed the update post about it? ^^ Edited April 8, 2018 by No.54dixx

Correct for the period.

69thSpiritus Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 Yes, the Martlet will be based off of land bases but could be carrier capable. Once I can show updates on it, I will.
TWC_BlacKnight Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Disagree on Hurricane IIc : As one of 43 Squadron's night intruder pilots Harry Lea puts it: "The Hurricane IIC was a splendid aircraft for the job in hand. It had range with its two 45 gallon wing drop tanks, excellent armament with four 20 mm cannon, and it was a tough, solid aircraft that could withstand a great deal of punishment and still survive. This later point was proved at the Dieppe Raid when we suffered severely from ground fire and all but two aircraft returned, of which five sustained varying degrees of damage, one of these you would wonder how it managed to stay in the air". There were three features which particularly distinguished the intruder Hurricanes from the ones flown by 1 and 43 Squadrons in the Battle of Britain: colour, armament and fuel.

Obviously the release date is not near so they show the stuff gradually so people have something to see. Who knows maybe we'll see it next month.
Haza Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Just now, Hauggy said: Obviously the release date is not near so they show the stuff gradually so people have something to see. Who knows maybe we'll see it next month. Hauggy, I'm not sure if TFS will trickle feed Torbruk stuff or will just release it as one big patch with that patch being TF5.0 North Africa (assuming that Tobruk is part of that up-date and not another NA campaign). However, from this sentence from a post from Buzzsaw on ATAG forum, I was expecting TF5.0 to be released next year, with TF5.0 being a big update with Tobruk, but of course this might all change, so hopefully one of the TFS guys might be able to clarify that for you/us. "And about the same time, or even perhaps before Bodenplatte comes out, you may see TF 5.0, our North African release appear." Regards Haza
Ste_Smith Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 think he ment the info not the actual game patch when he said gradually...??? seems pretty obvious to me that team f wont release tf5 till next year at earliest and will be in one big bang
