CrazyDuck Posted April 20, 2018 Posted April 20, 2018 Hi chaps and chapettes, so I'm thinking about creating some at least partially historical dogfight missions (perhaps even online dogfight maps) with unusual fighter matchups (single fighter type on each side, preferably from the same default side in the sim, and no masquerading of one type for another). Of course they should be matched somewhat evenly on top of all this. Since I'd like to avoid making stuff up completely, I'm asking you for ideas. So far I got: 109E vs 109E - Yugoslavia vs Germany, Battle of Belgrade (fairly historical - Yugoslavia operated about 70 109Es at the time of German invasion, multiple kills on both sides between these aircraft) Lagg-3 vs Lagg-3/P-39/La-5 - Finland vs Russia (vaguely historical, 1 recorded kill) More ideas? Cheers!
Feathered_IV Posted April 20, 2018 Posted April 20, 2018 Finnish I-16 vs Russian I-16. And for fun, Turkish vs German Fw-190s. Just to see what people could still find to complain about. 2
unreasonable Posted April 20, 2018 Posted April 20, 2018 (edited) RAEF (Egypt) vs Israeli Spitfires, (with RAF stuck in middle), 1949. Would work with the upcoming Mk IX. http://www.historynet.com/spitfire-vs-spitfire-aerial-combat-israels-war-independence.htm Edited April 20, 2018 by unreasonable 1

=IL2AU=chappyj Posted April 22, 2018 Posted April 22, 2018 I was planning on running a dynamic campaign on kuban in a what if scenario Where the axis have defeated Russia early in 1942 and now have established a 'White 'Russian government aka Vichy. Perhaps named the novorossiya The allies have convinced Turkey to enter the war on their side . The new front is therefor opened up in the Caucasus. Axis : German and Russian planeset Allies p40 spitfire a20 p39 plus the 190a3 . Turkey had been gifted them by Germany early in the war and is now using them against the axis powers

I’d be interested in giving it a whirl just for the novelty value.
