303_Bies Posted April 20, 2018 Posted April 20, 2018 (edited) Do you think D5 variant could be implemented to the game? 1) It would require only some minor adjustments - slightly longer wings, more powerfull engine and 20mm cannons instead of machine guns. 2) Because of above mentioned it was far better suited to carry 37mm cannons as G2 variant (instead of G1 converted from D3 which is in the game). 2) It was possibly the most produced variant of Ju-87 in the eastern front. 3) There are already three different variants of IL-2 and only one Ju-87. Cheers and have a nice day Edited April 20, 2018 by bies 2
klebor Posted April 20, 2018 Posted April 20, 2018 I can add: 4) Ju-87 is a little bit outdated in 1943 so increased low speed handling (due to longer wings and stronger engine) coupled with bigger firepower equals some chances defending itself when we met a lone fighter. Just more interesting scenario.

We can use it in both the Moscow and Stalingrad scenario's. Grt M
303_Bies Posted April 20, 2018 Author Posted April 20, 2018 (edited) B2 would be great also, but B2 = lot of work; D5 = only some small changes. Edited April 20, 2018 by bies

F/JG300_Gruber Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 (edited) This has already been discussed a few times. On the D5 : Same engine, so don't expect improvements on that point Elongated wingtips, so more research to do on wing profile, lift/drag curves and so on. Plus center of gravity shift (20mm ammo boxes, additionnal onboard equipments) wich might require more FM tuning. Significant overhaul of the cockpit since there are quite a few important differences with the D3 regarding instruments and layout. And if they want to do it the right way, they will have to model a working Stuvi sight, jettisonable landing legs... So not as simple as a stretch the wing and put bigger guns affair. That being said, I would love to see that bird coming ! It was as much prduced as the D3 so yeah it definitely have it's place in here. Edited April 21, 2018 by F/JG300_Gruber

No additional ressearch required. The 1.5m extension used the same profile as the original short wingtips. Only major changes required here is lfitpoint and drag calculation (roughly). 3. The D5 first feautured all weather and night flying equipment (D-5N / D-8 night bomber) which needs to be added, however I wouldn't call it a 'major overhaul' given that many of those instruments are already modeled ingame in other aircraft. For now I would put the D-5 aside for a B-2 / R-2 needed for the moscow / early Stalingrad campaign. Once we have a late eastern front scenarion we could use it with the D-5N / D-8 night bomber modification.
=FEW=Hauggy Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 There is a poll section on the forum making this much simpler. Also that might have been already done. The Stuka we currently have in game is mission something very important (see my signature), I'd rather see that fixed beforehand rather than having more of the same plane with slight differences.

New plane of the same kind actually makes devs add more stuff to it and focus on it even more (look at Fw190) so if devs would make another ju87 then i am pretty sure we would get these upgrades, especially for B2.

Well ultimately the Devs do what they can do but Im not sure adding more workload when it comes to coding knowing theres only one guy doing it will somehow help achieving the coding of long overdue features absent from the original game. My point is I wouldn't mind a bit less content for more quality as that one guy (sorry I forgot his name or nickname) can't do everything and anything. Edited April 21, 2018 by =FEW=Hauggy
MicEzo Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 I would definitely buy Ju-87D5/G2 variant and it would require only small modifications to be implemented.
