Book USSR economy 1920's till 1945?

Hey all,

I recently finished Adam Tooze's "Wages of destruction", which describes/analyses the economy of Nazi Germany from 1933 till the end of the war. I would vividly recommend it to anyone trying to grasp the background in which some crucial decisions were made by the Germans.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a book in the same style of "wages of destruction", but about the Soviet economy (from the end of the 20's till the end of the war).

With "in the same style" I mean : same objective and thorough analysis, not too simplified.

Thx in advance!

Handy,

I work with some economists/accountants who are Ex Warsaw pact country types so will ask them if they have any suggestions, as perhaps this is the type of stuff that might interest them.

Opticflow,

I think he was after a book about the USSR/communists and not about Germany and the fascists, however, that is the way I read this post.

Therefore, perhaps the book you suggested is on the lines of what he has already read as he was now asking for a book on USSR.

However,  perhaps you just misunderstood!?

PS  Is that a Flogger?

Regards
