I currently have the X-56 joystick, but my hand has a real struggle moving my thumb around on it. While I love the throttle of the X-56, I feel like the stick is not very ergonomic. The one stick I keep looking at with a very simple design and straightforward look is the old Pacific AV8R, which is no where to be seen anymore.

For anyone that still has one, do you know if today's Windows OS supports it and how the movement is compared to other sticks? I'm hoping to find it on ebay or Amazon at some point in the future.

$19

It should work with a PC, but I would not expect great quality.

In "entry-level" joystick price range - up to $100, avoid buy joystick with potentiometer in main axes (X,Y),

like this AV8R, or Logitech 3D PRO, Thrustmaster X, Hotas X, HOTAS 4.

Unless you need, avoid too "hybrid" PC/console joystick.

What rest to buy in this "entry-level" range, because don't use potentiometer in main axes, but contact less sensor,  is:

Thrustmaster T.16000M

VKB Gladiator - more expensive, difficult to find available.

But if price is a limiting factor, give a try to this model. ;)
