Hello, i was thinking about buying either bf 109 g6 or the spifire to play in campaing, since im not that much of a multplayer gamer, but when i checked the campaing, both stalingrad and moscow (i dont have kuban), i didnt found the g6 or the spitfire in the list to choose from.

My question is, if i buy any of this planes, i'll i be able to fly it in stalingrad or moscow or i'll have to purchase the plane and the kuban dlc to be able to fly it in career mode

Because neither of those aircraft served in either of those campaigns they won't be of much use to you in the Career mode.

The Spitfire Vb is a IL-2: Battle of Kuban Premium aircraft so it fits in the Kuban battle (and has an interesting history: http://lend-lease.airforce.ru/english/articles/spit/). The Bf109G-6 is independent of any of the battle releases but its timeline puts it firmly at the end of the Battle of Kuban. Most of the units in the Kuban career fly the G-2 and G-4 until about the late summer when the G-6 starts to show up. I'm sure someone has an exact date around here.

That kinda sucks, im short on money for now, and i was hoping i could play one of those two in career mode without having to buy the kuban dlc

You could fly them in multiplayer if you do that.

I get where you're coming from. The devs have a balancing act between wanting to give people the flexibility to fly different planes but they also are offering up a product that is meant to be a historical representation and putting planes where they don't belong is generally a no-no. There are a few exceptions but generally speaking you won't fly a Spitfire over Moscow in 1941.

Well, you should probably curse the British too, since they were the ones that only supplied Spitfires in limited numbers to the Soviet Union in early 1943 ;)

Ditto! Real men fly IL-2, Hs 129 and the like (plus the bombers) and actually do the dirty work. Ego inflating single engined fighters are for (momma's) boys.

Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make history.

Question: if you don't own Kuban can you still play a mission on the Kuban map (provided you own the plane)?  I think the answer is yes.

In MP yes, but I don't think in SP. You only get access to the things you paid for, exept the maps in MP.

I dont think i would be able to fly in kuban maps in SP if i dont own the DLC itself

I do understand why, but its kinda of a bummer i wont have a way to fly either of the planes in career mode before i buy kuban too

Pretty sure the answer is no. Only in multiplayer could he fly on the Kuban map.

Yeah... they do have to have some reason to sell us the next pack...

Hopefully some funds will become available to you someday soon!

Fly 110 and be a real dead man

Fixed that for you. I love the BF 110, but that thing is a death trap.

In MP I go out in the 110 knowing it'll be a one way trip. And when I'm in a single engine fighter and see a 110 I can't stop salivating.

You shouldnt be flying alone in a BF110. You need 109s as cover and your task is to destroy something on teh ground, come fast flyaway fast. On the way back you can jump on bombers if tehre are some and thats it. It never was a dogfighter. Im primarly a fighter pilot but the other night I had a great fun in a BF110. I came from high alt when I was close to enemy base. Then bombed the f** out of teh base and then I saw Il2 just taking off. BnZed him and flew away as fasy as I could. No sticking for dogfight. No way. And if you have a human gunner behind your survivability is higher.
