Poochnboo Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 I recently made a little boo-boo. I have a Steam gift card that I recieved as a birthday present. Only game I'm interested in, at the moment, is BOK. But it's not on Steam yet, so okay...I'll wait. But then I saw that there was a 60 percent sale on DCS modules. Uh oh. I love the Spitfire. It was 24 dollars. Oh no, Normandy and the "assets pack" too. I could have it all for fifty bucks. The temptation was too much! I bought them. Well, if I had bothered to read first, none of that was compatible with my DCS install. It meant that I now had two DCS World installs. One with the Spitfire and the other with everything else. I couldn't even use my Mustang over Normandy. So I now had a flight sim installed with just a Spitfire. Not only that, the Normandy map needs a whole lot more power to run than my AZUS laptop has got. I had to turn everything down. It flew badly, and looked awful with everything turned down. What an idiot. I should have just been patient. Now, to the credit of the guys at Steam, they refunded the entire fifty dollars when I explained my plight. No questions asked. So, I have my money back, and I'm waiting. But please, release BOK on Steam before I weaken again!
GreenSound Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 Takes a lot of discipline and patience to be a good pilot... Look at this as training

I would go for them on Steam and buy BoK later either when it gets released on Steam or via this shop here. Don´t bother with WW2 and DCS, 2 years no updates...seems to be a dead horse.
Poochnboo Posted April 18, 2018 Author Posted April 18, 2018 I have BOS and I've pre ordered Bodenplatte. I've even purchased the Spitfire MK5. Nice model. And as far as DCS WW2 is concerned, yes, I knew of it's shortcomings, already. I have the Mustang and I'm not really happy with it. I'm tired of trying to figure out the right Axis fine tuning that will keep it fron dropping out of the sky. And yet I went ahead and bought the Spit and Normandy anyway. Geez! I guess that money was burning a hole in my pocket. I have to simply forget it's there an wait. You guys just need to stop showing those screenshots of the A-20 and P-39.

Ah that´s good, because with BoS you get a very good idea about this game, stuff you like and stuff you don´t like. In the long run, if you like BoX I suggest buying BoM and BoK so that you can start a career at Moscow 41 and continue it with BoS 42 until BoK 43. Hundreds of hours of SP fun are waiting for you. Enjoy!
Poochnboo Posted April 18, 2018 Author Posted April 18, 2018 " BoS you get a very good idea about this game, stuff you like and stuff you don´t like." Yes, and that's actually why I bought the game. I had already pre-ordered BOP. I hadn't owned any of the series yet. I just am not very interested in the Russian Front, to be honest. But this past Christmas, there was a half price off sale. Good way to find out what the sim is all about. I grabbed the P-40 cheap, too. I liked it, but as I suspected,The Russian planes just don't do it for me. I like the little Yak 1, though. But I was flying the P-40 most of the time. Now I'm also enjoying the Spit. I'm looking forward to the Aircobra and Havoc. I want to fly some of those "fake Pacific" missions using the Kuban map as New Guinea. So, Moscow doesn't have anything that interests me. I'll wait. Hope it's not much longer.
