mrvile Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 Is there any way to hide the aircraft type and distance on enemy markers? I need to use the markers in VR but it would be great if it was just the dot and brackets, without any other info. I can't seem to find anything for this in any of the game settings. I've already installed lefuneste's mod which is great for hiding the markers when obscured by the aircraft but I'd like a little less assistance. Thanks! 1
Field-Ops Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 (edited) Yes, this option is found in the "Realism" setting when beginning a mission. As soon as you select Quick Mission you will see the Realism button at the bottom right near the Accept button. Making changes here will be saved in any other game mode as well. Multiplayer servers make their own decisions on having markers and most do not allow it. Having the markers in the fashion you are asking would probably need its own mod as the dot and bracket are tied together with aircraft info at this time. I Just started playing with my VR headset again and do fine spotting without aircraft markers. Edited April 15, 2018 by Field-Ops
mrvile Posted April 15, 2018 Author Posted April 15, 2018 Yeah I know how to turn them off and on, but I was just wondering if I could just turn off the info it is displaying. I guess the answer is no.
Nibbio Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Unfortunately it's impossible. Wish we had this option.
Field-Ops Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Looks like this is a sought after feature in the Mod section of this forum. The community is brainstorming how to pull it off.
C6_lefuneste Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 (edited) If you use my mod, you just have to add the line o0.w=0; before the line return; in the file 166ebb009a63feda-ps_replace.txt in ShaderFixes directory. Use notepad++. But it will also remove text for waypoint and other icons. Edited April 16, 2018 by lefuneste
GreenSound Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 (edited) I might be misunderstanding the question, but can't you just hit 'i" on the keyboard? Edited April 16, 2018 by GreenSound
