Weller001 Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 I have no idea whether this would be possible, but thought I would post it anyway. As someone who enjoys watching the action unfold around the theatre of war just as much as taking part, I would love to have the option of spectating the AI missions during the career mode rather than them being simulated. Any chance of that ever being a thing? 1
JG4_Sputnik Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Not for me, though it would become some kind of "football manager", a Airfare manager of sort 1

Any chance of that ever being a thing? What do you mean "rather than them being simulated" There's no "under the hood" dice rolls happening. If you want to watch the AI then hit ctrl/shift F2, F5

I wouldn`t mind being able to watch the AI Squad take off from base and even seeing how they do myself, actually.
Gambit21 Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Ahhh...I see, thank you. No that AI doesn't even exist.

seafireliv Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 (edited) I`m sure it`s possible (just run the mission with just the AI). Question is, is it worth it? You`d likely have to watch the whole thing in real time. Personally I would be quite happy just to see them take off then the mission quits (to you) until they come back to land so you could see who made it or who`s smoking and who might still have an enemy on his 6. I think it would be great, but people`s imagination tends not to go this far or have the will to implement it. However, there have been some games that gave that option. That is the reason, why the missions, at least my experience, most times only last 6 or 7 minutes, which is a little short for a complete mission.
Weller001 Posted April 11, 2018 Author Posted April 11, 2018 Im aware that those planes dont actually exist, but of course they could exist, if they were simulated the same way as when we are in the game world, just with the player in a spectator type mode.

At present that is only possible if you are squadron leader, participate in every mission and let the AI (press A on keyboard) fly your plane. However pretty boring if you ask me and with time acceleration presently not working as advertised a pretty time consuming show. But in principle: yes it works and yes this way you can watch all the stuff which happens in every mission.
