Multiplayer not working! Black Screen of Crap!

Same stuff here. I haven't heard anything directly constructive about this issue..I've made multiple different posts.

Everyone gets black screens but if you wait long enough they usually go away.  Black screens are not new to this update,  they used to happen before sometimes but rarely lasted more than 10 seconds while now they can last several minutes.  On Sunday my squad of 6 tried to get into Coconut Expert and most of us sat looking at a black screen for at least 3 minutes before the loading screen started and some waited longer.  Some got kicked out before the black screen went away and had to start again but you can have that happen while on the loading screen as well (and that happened before the update too)

 

I believe there is a known bug causing servers to take a long time to let players in.

I think the black screen is now shown when before there was the "downloading" dialog shown.

This black screen might be annoying - yes - but people have to be patient.  It depends on which server you actually

try to connect. For example, if you choose BERLOGA you won't have any black screen, the download screen appears

immediately because there isn't very much to download.

 

But if you select a server like Coconut Expert or Finish Air War, then you might have to wait up to 2-3 minutes as

Roblex stated. And if you click only once with your mouse during black screen you very often get kicked back to the

main screen.

 

It's all about patience and waiting - something that seems to have been lost nowadays...

The problem I'm experiencing has slightly different seasoning - the black screen times out and sends me back to the Multiplayer Drop screen after 1-2 mins. Regardless of open slot size to the server. It could list 70 players or 28 players, Same results..Although it is true Berloga is just fine..most of the times. I've never had issues as persistent as this before. I'm sure they'll adjust the black screen, I've just been wanting some feed back about it Haha..I've spent a good 6+ hours for a few days trying to trouble shoot things; unsure if it was my end or just natural IL2 growing pains.

I just saw your video - I'm not 100% sure but it seems that you not only moved around with your mouse cursor on

the black screen (which is no problem), but you also clicked with your mouse and then you were kicked out. But

could be misinterpreted by me. Just try not to click during the black screen and wait... that's my experience I did

with the black loading screen.

When people say "can't connect to server" do they actually mean "can't connect to Wings of Liberty" ?

 

I occasionally have this problem too.  All other servers I have no problem connecting with - just Wings.

 

It's been like this since before the release of 3.001 for me.

Thanks for the sudjetstion! I'll give that more testing, but I usually don't click and sit and wait to see if it responds. But sometimes if I notice the mouse stopped loading - I'll hit enter for it to drive me back. Maybe that's the issue, I'll have to test it more.

Thanks a lot for this advice, I tried now the Login to coconut Server and simply go afk (to be sure not to touch or move anything), and when I came back some minutes later I finally was logged in; after dozens of unsuccessfull attemps before since release of 3.001.

So good to know that online flying is finally still working for me, but anyhow slightly annoying bug that hopefully will be fixed with next update

Off yer rocking-chair oldie and enough of that "back in my days" nonsense. Shouldn't be any need to wait for this kind of black screen rubbish. People think it's crashed or there's been a problem. Thanks for the information.

I've been doing testing with this, and so far so good. I've spent days troubleshooting trying to figure out what was going wrong. Just a short snip below. But it does seem to be more responsive waiting for the black screen of resolution. I just assumed that since the mouse stopped indicating loading, it was done. But that probably was the issues (Ass)(u)&(me). Assume..

 

Spoiler

-Opened Ports to Firewall

-Disabled the firewall

-Created a New User profile

-Removed IL2 and installed the Non-steam web version of IL2

-Cleared and reconfigured all my user settings (Including re-mapping Joystick configs etc.)

-Forwarded my Ports on my router

-Set a static IP Address

-Went Over my Router config with my Chief Intelligence Officer at work

-Tested My Ports to verify they were correctly opened

-Stole a Windows 10 Pro Key and SSD from Work

-Installed Windows 10 on the SSD

-Installed Steam and Tested IL2 on Windows 10 (Reminisced why I hate windows 10 again)

-Attempted to connect using only WIFI
