BOO Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 I'm interested in doing a few skins in the style of the Havocs used by the RAAF in the PTO. These aircraft had a field modified fitting of nose guns but retained the original Boston III nose profile and framing. So, question is, it is yet possible to access the transparent layers to alter them to a solid area where the skin paint will show? Thanks in advance BOO

Thanks in advance BOO I'm fairly certain the glass sections (cockpit, nose, fuse etc) on the various airframe models are part of the MDL and aren't controlled by the alpha. Ya know, for example some FSX/P3D/XP fuselage PAX windows on some addons can be edited to reflect a specific aircraft config, but I don't think that's possible with any of the IL-2 birds.
BOO Posted April 9, 2018 Author Posted April 9, 2018 Agreed, I just wondered if the file affecting the transparency was accessible as a result of the recent changes. Seems a lot is.
Yakdriver Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 The Glass nose is exactly that - made of glass. Not regular Stuff made almost transparent. So to get a solid nose you need to change the 3D part of the Model, and that is not possible.
