ChainSaw762 Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 Greetings LuftSpace-program pilots! I've been flying with the X52 Pro for the past couple years and it's time to upgrade. Of course I've seen the Saitek Pro X-56 Rhino HOTAS and the always Thustmaster HOTAs Warthog. Does anybody have any other's that they suggest or use?

Finkeren Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 (edited) Don’t buy Saitek sticks! Their spring system is whack, and I say that as a previous user of both X52 and X55. Their throttles are fine, I still use the X55 throttle with my VKB stick, but the sticks will drive you mad with their insane cup-and-ball spring system. It squeaks, it sticks, it creates uneven pressure load, it is horrible. Edited April 8, 2018 by Finkeren 1 1
Wolf8312 Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 (edited) I just recently reviewed the Mongoose! Highly recommended though you'll also need a throttle. Edited April 8, 2018 by Wolf8312

Well, I feel sorry for you - but what I'm concerned, I run my X55 rhino hotas now for over 4 years and never ever had any trouble, stick works like brand-new and flawless.
ShamrockOneFive Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 I'm currently using a 12+ year old Saitek X-52 HOTAS but I'd like to replace it with something more sophisticated eventually. VKB's TECS throttle system looks really appealing if that ever comes out. Logitech bought Saitek's products from Madcatz and have just re-released the first stick. I'm hoping the quality has improved. https://www.logitechg.com/en-ca/product/x56-space-flight-vr-simulator-controller
ChainSaw762 Posted April 8, 2018 Author Posted April 8, 2018 Thank you for the responses, but my biggest problem is my hand throttle
ShamrockOneFive Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 Well you basically can go for high end VPC MongoosT-50 Throttle or Warthog HOTAS or something lower like the Thrustmaster TWCS or CH Pro Throttle. There's more but that's sort of the range right this moment.
seafireliv Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 My Sidewinder FF2 and Quadrant throttle system does the job fine, though I wonder how long the Sidewinder will last. She`s getting old.
ruby_monkey Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 I have a Sidewinder 2 FFB and two CH Pro quadrants for a total of thirteen levers (twelve on the quadrants plus the Sidewinder's throttle), and in all honesty I sometimes feel the urge to add more. Lord knows how you ladies and gentlemen survive with a simple HOTAS.
EAF19_Marsh Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 My G940 is getting rapidly old and spikey. While I like the FFB, they skimped on the quality and it is quite frustrating. I would recommend it at a discount but not worth the full price given the issues it has after a year or so. 1
