Veteran66 Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 Hi all i see there are many map mods like green Kuban map. So it is possible to make a mediterran texture for Kuban or desert textures for stalingrad map? So we must remove rivers and add some new trees like palms and dersert bushes. Buildings ana other stuff later 2
=IL2AU=chappyj Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 Hmm Well to change buildings is not a map mod that's adding objects As we've established in other topics we can't do this yet. We don't have a current plugin with access to il2 materials for 3ds max yet There are some map editing tools in the Mission editor.... I wonder has anyone tried them yet? They used to have no impact when one saved a mission
Mitthrawnuruodo Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 It is feasible. Terrain, trees, and buildings can be tropicalised quite easily via texture mods. I don't know about rivers. We won't be able to make new buildings until either the developers release their plugin or someone reverse-engineers the .mgm format.

Hey Thrawn - I don't know anything about making buildings so I wasn't paying attention to exactly where it was when I saw it, but I did see a post on these Forums the other day where one of the devs said which plug-in they use for BoX, so that information is out there somewhere.

I believe this post was all that they revealed. Unless I missed something, no plugin has been released yet. At least it shows they're thinking about it.
TG-55Panthercules Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 Well, when I saw Jason post this: Our Plug-in for BOS is for 3DS Max 2012 32 bit. I thought that's what he meant, but as I said I don't know anything about making objects - now that I look at it more carefully it does sound like maybe there's a specific plug-in for 3DS Max 2012 32 bit that's still MIA. Oh well, hopefully it'll all become clear sometime soon.
