The effect of being hit- Nicely done. And AI again.

Flying as no 3 in a trio, my flight and I were on a Ferry protection mission. I was happily flying in formation, rather pleased with myself and decided to start the recording. As I flew along becoming lulled by the vibrations of my aircraft my character said something... I sometimes can`t be arsed to read the subtitles. Nothing appeared wrong anyway as my lead and his wingman were merrily flying along in a straight line. If they`re not breaking nothing can be wrong, right?

Saw two suspicious 109-looking silhouettes flying round on my 9. Looked back to my lead and wingie- No reaction. Has the Ai not `seen` them? Maybe friendlies?

My suspicion got too much and I began to turn to check out the shadows flying round behind me.

At that point my seat shook to the impacts of weapon fire, everything went black and silent... Am I dead? A red mist returned and my vision came back...

Then a furball broke loose.

Just want to say,  I like that effect. It really feels like i`ve been hit and momentarily stunned. I am also quite pleased that the AI can actually be a bit blind (not seen that before they usually break early). It was nice to actually see the enemy first for a change.  I only wish I could somehow shout at them that I see suspicious bogeys.

p.s. Don`t worry, I won`t keep posting threads of my flights! i`m just impressed with a lot of this sim now.

Well if this is the case, that AI can be blind, I find it a bit helpless not being able to warn them. But the way you put it , it was quite realistic

It is OK when the AIs don't see the enemy fighters, but as seafireliv's pilot said something, and in this situation, there is only one possibility, that he is attacking an enemy, it is a bit odd, that the AIs don't react on his radio call. I experienced this situation, too, a few times, even tonight. You get attacked by an enemy fighter and your squdmates don't care.

Thanks... But I am using a vibration kickbutt-type set up that shakes whenever the engine is running or I`m being hit so it was easy to be descriptive about it lulling me to sleep, which it does after about 10 minutes of that. lol!

So you try to fly as realistic as possible. Maybe you should place your fridge next to you with open door to decrease the temperatures while flying. This should keep you from falling asleep:biggrin:

1. Flying with formation...

2. Two Jerries behind me, but I was concerned by contacts I could see on my 9.

3. turned to checkout contacts when 1st 109 opened fire.

4. It hurt! Moment of impact, black out, silence!

The contacts on my 9 turned out to be friendlies!

p.s. No icons at the time. I put them on here so you guys can see easier.
