Some changes coming in 3.4.  I think they will be good ones.  As I was comparing PWCG squadrons to 1C squadrons I found several things.  First, there is a lot of overlap - good.  Second, there were way too many units in PWCG - not good.  Finally, the Russians are a pain in the rear.  The unit exist and then don't exist and new units pop up.  PWCG has never handled that gracefully.

I am working on a new transition sequence:

Moscow map: Oct 1941 through March 1942

Stalingrad map: April 1942 through June 1942

Kuban Map: July 1942 through September 1942

Stalingrad Map: August 1942 through March 1943

Kuban map: April 1943 through December 1943

These transitions are already in PWCG today, but they will be enforced more tightly.

Squadrons: Your squadron will change over time.  For many German units this is not necessarily true, as the same unit exists across all maps.  For Russian units it is almost universally true, since Russian units come and go more often. Example: if you start a career with 136th bomber air regiment flying PE2s on Oct 1 1941, on March 1 1942 you will be reformed as 45th bomber air regiment flying A20s in the Stalingrad area.  45th will then proceed through to Kuban, Stalingrad for the actual battle, and back to Kuban.  In this way you are guaranteed a seamless campaign with your squadron.

The latest code also allows me to change the quality of the squadrons over time, which can be used to reflect improvements in the VVS and degradation in the Luftwaffe.

Code is pretty much done.  Lots of data manipulation and testing to get right, so it is taking a bit of time.

Transfers, as always, are readily available for any reason.

Looking forward to it Pat. Your creation remains the only way I play the game. For me anyway  the game runs way better playing PWCG vs the new career. I also think its more flexible and allows more choice. One thing I noticed is that I don't see the tabs when squadron mates are killed or wounded and tabs reporting who has come to the unit as replacements. Is that something that has changed?

Another question, is there a way to get ground attack missions assigned to German fighter squadrons? I know that was changed to some degree. While I fly entirely fighter squadrons I miss getting them periodically.

Thank you for continuing to support this outstanding product.

Great stuff Pat!

The killed/wounded tabs should be there.  it's a bug if they are not.  I will look into it.

German Me109 units are assigned 10% ground attack.  FW190 fighter units get more.  If you want more than 10% you can open the squadron file and change the ratio under squadronRoles.

All sounding great Pat, thanks so much for all you do with PWCG!

Thanks Pat. I'll get a look at the squadron role file.

Thank you Pat.  Looking good, but I will not be much into it until April 18, then the next day I fly out for a vacation returning the 27th, tough life:biggrin:

Thank you so much for your continued hard work, enthusiasm and determination to  keep this project in step with the main developments from IC. Will version 3.4 include the new aircraft from BoK. I am having an absolute blast with the La-5FN and would love to incorporate that type into your campaign generator?

It will be there.  Only one squadron, and late (Sept 43 I think).  Because it is a collector I am providing this plane concurrently with the LA5.

Same with the G6 - it will serve beside the G2 and G4 to ensure that people flying for that squadron actually have something to fly.  Not sure at this point about the introduction of the G6.

The A20 will exist from Stalingrad forward.

The P39 will be on the Kuban map from Spring of 1943.

I don't get it?! I started in Stalingrad, now the campaign switches to Kuban in June 1942 map but I don't have it, I can't play the campaign anymore then?!
