PikAs62 Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 (edited) Since 3.001 I can hardly play one quick mission without freeze with VR gameplay. I configured only medium graphic settings. I re-installed the game but without solving the problems. What experiences does other VR players have? My Specs: i7-7700k, Nvidia 1080Ti 32 GB of RAM, Oculus Rift. Windows and all device drivers are on current versions. Edited April 7, 2018 by Pikas_62
dburne Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 (edited) Mine is rock solid, have already logged many hours flying in the new Career Mode with my Rift. And this with the High graphics preset. You certainly should not be having issue with your setup, it is way better than mine. My first thought would be: Try a clean install of the latest Nvidia drivers, Use DDU to uninstall your drivers in safe mode, then do the clean install - installing only the drivers and PhysX. Do not install GeForce Experience or any of that other stuff. Then go into Nvidia Control Panel, set power mgmt. to " Prefer Maximum Performance". I believe it defaults to "Optimum", you do not want that. Leave all other Nvidia settings at default. Once drivers installed, reboot PC and then try the game again. If the above does not help, I would then consider a re-install of the game. Edited April 7, 2018 by dburne
PikAs62 Posted April 7, 2018 Author Posted April 7, 2018 (edited) @dburne: Thx will try it. What is DDU, where can I find it? Nevermind - found it. Will report if it helps or not. Edited April 7, 2018 by Pikas_62
PikAs62 Posted April 8, 2018 Author Posted April 8, 2018 Sadly even the decribed reinstall of the nvidia driver doesn‘t help. I even reinstalled the game on my c-drve (SSD). The result - I can‘t play one single quick mission to the end without freeze. I love this game and can‘t go back to monitor play because VR is so immersive. Any help would be welcome!
dburne Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Wow that is strange. Are you overclocking that 7700k? Any chance your system is unstable? Do you play other games and not have these freezes? If you are overclocking the cpu, you can try going back to default clockspeed and see if that make any difference.
