Vive keeps booting me back to steam home

I'm genuinely going crazy here and I cant find any other example of this online.

 

I launch IL2 BOS selecting the launch in vr mode and the game starts loading, then stops. Loads Steam Vr home and dumps me in there.

 

I try launching it from steam vr home and it starts loading, stops and throws me back into steam vr home.

 

I try setting it so that steam vr home wont launch when I launch an application, it still throws me in steam vr home and if I try to launch it again or from inside steam vr home steam has a meltdown because I'm trying to run 2 versions of steam vr home and I'm forced to restart my computer.

 

 

I did have il2 bos working in vr. I played it quite a bit and enjoyed it. But I had to put my vr headset away for a while and played it straight with hat track. But I've now got a new space and have set my vive up permanently. So I have no idea whats changed that is screwing me over. I will admit the last time I played with vive was prior to the launch of kuban and I did install reshade. Would that be affecting it? I cant seem to get rid of it which is frustrating me to no end.

 

 

crisis averted, it was reshade.

 

I just hadnt removed it fully.

 

Once it was removed everything started working again
