DL game client - failure to update

Hi all,

 

Just bought the game on sale. Am a long time IL2 fan, played the original way back in 2004-ish.

 

As title suggests I have run the setup exe file and got the desktop icon.  When i click on that the game goes into updates mode and says;

 

Downloading game client.  it downloads X GB of files over 15 min or so but near the end it it then reports;

 

failure to update

 

What is goin on? how can i play this beutiful game?

 

Please help!
